The Local

Coffee was good. The employees were very friendly to us and were helpful. The place could have been a little cleaner and the staff was talking ( to each other, but we could hear.. Its a coffee shop ) They were not very happy with something going on at work and it was very clear!! You would think they would be a little more aware or that they would care enough to not let people hear their language and displeasure... Might have been just on bad day🤷‍♂️...

Always a good place to have a satisfying meal in a short time without driving to far (its close to work). The new owners are rolling out a yummy menu with some old favorites. Salads are still great! Bonus is the outside seating and the day I went it was warm, with an overcast sky. Perfect for quiet lunch.

I had a good latte there. This Saturday morning 06/05/20 at least a dozen customers passed through or sat at outside tables between 10 and 11 a.m. Apparently pets are welcome at the outside seating, because I noticed a dog dish with clean water.

My hubby and I are highbrow coffee drinkers. The coffee offered here was so delicious! They get their beans from Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters. We had a delicious STRONG espresso shot, and also had the drip coffee that was mocha flavor. The breakfast prices are reasonable. Their lunch sandwiches are close to $10 a pop. Overall, if you are in or near Irvington, it is well worth your time to come grab some coffee!

A couple times a month we leave Deltaville an cross the bridge. The Local is always a wonderful place. The people are always very welcoming and the breakfast is always made to order. The coffee drinks are always a treat. It is connected to a great start called Jimmy and Soon. They have a great selection of summer clothes.

This trip seems like it has been a mixed bag. Same with the The Local. Fairly friendly staff, and the espresso drinks were just ok. The milk alternative made the drink taste a little odd, but I suppose I would go back. I can't speak on the food. Just don't expect much in the way of espresso, and your visit will be fine.

Wheatberry toasted breakfast sandwich was excellent with the espresso. Delicious smoothies. Turkey sausage available.

Nice sandwiches come with pasta salad. I had a strawberry salad. Refreshing! It was really hot outdoors but their umbrellas made it bearable.

So so painfully slow. Don’t bother calling your order in beforehand because you’ll still wait for 25 minutes when you show up.

I got an iced coffee and they just gave me a cup with ice to fill with hot coffee. That would’ve just melted the ice immediately and you’re not supposed to put hot drinks in plastic cups, so I switched it to hot coffee. Then I discovered both coffee pots and the milk were completely empty...

And the sandwhiches are just tossed in a takeout container with no plastic wrap or anything, so they mix with your pasta, potato salad, or fruit...

Good service, great breakfast sandwich. The coffee was not as strong as I like it, but that's on me, not them. I will swing by again when I'm in the area.
