One of the best coffee shops in downtown Harrisonburg! Hannah, one of the baristas, is super friendly and makes you feel right at home! Their coffee is out of this world, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, making it the ideal place to get work done. Whether you're grabbing it to go or sitting down for a while, you won't wanna miss out on the incredible coffee this place has to offer.

Great nook for studying and working. Home-roasted beans at half the price of any other roaster coffee shop I've been to! Best yet, I could drink the coffee black, as usual, and it carries a full-bodied, smooth flavor with no bitter aftertaste. Win all around!

Pros: Nice location to downtown Harrisonburg. Good drinks and wonderful atmosphere.

Cons: not a lot of parking on-site, may have to park across the street or elsewhere downtown; but that may not be much of an issue since most people walk around downtown. There isn’t a changing table in the restroom; I had to change my baby on the floor in the middle of the coffee shop, which honestly makes me less inclined to visit because it’s not as accessible of a space for my family’s needs.

A great little coffee shop. The drinks are good, the atmosphere is artsy and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. I'd really recommend it as a place to study with some background noise or to enjoy a morning of people-watching and caffeine.

Outstanding coffee! A NYC daughter is trying to make me into an amateur coffee snob. I've got a way to go, but can say that Shenandoah Joe's coffee uses higher quality beans than in other local coffee shop. Plus, the staff must have been properly trained in using their coffee equipment. If you think coffee has to have cream and sugar to be drinkable, give this place a try or try using less than usual.

Stood in line and met a nice gentleman named Gabriel. As we neared the counter he offered to purchase my cappuccino. What a nice surprise, and a random act of kindness. I agreed and enjoyed the unexpected gift. Such great people in this "friendly city".

Went into this place for the first time about a week ago....loved the atmosphere and barista was super friendly/helpful. She suggested all their best sellers and made me a white chocolate mocha that was absolutely amazing! Awesome hangout for college students needing a boost or place to study in peace.

I see people every morning come and get their coffee from this place. Often I see the same people over and over walking in with an empty coffee cup or travel mug to fill up. I figure this place is pretty good if it can get this type of customer loyalty.

I bought some plain coffee from them a few times. I feel like coffee is either good or it's not. You know the difference when you try it and there's not really much more of a scale to it than that. I also think McDonalds coffee (if you go during peak hours) is good too. It's half the price... Just sayin'. If I were doing a blind taste test though I imagine I'd probably choose Shenandoah Joe's as the better of the two.

Good coffee. A nice array of seating options, but I don't find this the best coffee shop to cozy up and do some work. I found the constant coffee grinding to be rather loud and distracting. I also wish they had more food options.

Excellent service, phenomenal coffee! "Shen Joe's" is a favorite spot for my coffee-fanatic-friends and me, as we all agree that they hands-down serve the best (and the cheapest) coffee in the 'Burg.
The café is unique with its modern industrial design embellished with pieces from local artists; the atmosphere provides its guests with an interesting, always-moving scene that is located on the edge of a charming downtown.
