I ordered the espresso macchiato to start the morning. The coffee didn't really taste like espresso. It tasted more bitter/brunt! My daughter ordered boba tea which was good.
The store was clean and neat though.

Great place, tasty bubble teas!

Not sure why someone complained about the ice: you choose how much ice you want when you order your drink, or whether you even want it. I don't ice in my drinks, they didn't have a problem with that.
Check my pic: brown sugar milk tea without any ice. Tastes awesome.

Plenty of seating, good selection of food/drink and always nicely decorated for the seasons!

They make the best Việt ice coffee. It’s strong and so delicious. My whole IMVH pharmacy is hooked on it. I get mine no sea salt and no foam with little ice. I like the location and seating area here.

Cute cafe with a wide selection of sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Lots of space to sit around. Right next to Trader Joe's. Recommended!

I stumbled onto JAVA LOCO on Van Dorn Street in Alexandria when in the area on business last Thursday and noticing online JL has a second location on Leesburg Pike in Falls Church a reasonable distance from where I live in Vienna. I went JL FC for coffee yesterday to see if it is any better than JL A. The FC shop is newer, larger and cleaner but it is not any better than the 3 stars I gave JL A. The A location at least had some charm. The FC spot seemed soulless to me, a characteristic of the zone that Joel Garreau, author of Edge City, discusses in fair detail in his specific study of the prototype edge city, Tysons, in his book.

I only ordered black coffee which had the character of the interior ambiance, blah. JL FC had identical offering of pastries as the A location which was a disappointment and I did not want a repeat here so I just had coffee. The FC shop is set far back from LP as the JL A is from VDS. Both are destination locations.

Tried this place for the first time today, ordered a latte and chocolate croissant. The latte was just ok, the croissant was nearly inedible. Tasted like a plastic-wrapped pastry you’d get on an airplane. The store was soul-less, the bathroom was filthy, outdoor tables and chairs were covered in spilled coffee. I found the menu to be very confusing - like they can’t decide if they’re an espresso shop, a bubble tea shop, a smoothie shop, a sandwich shop…. They had “frappes” that were actually called “chillers” but then they also had a “coffee smoothie”…. It was all over the map (literally - they serve Italian espresso, Cuban coffee, Vietnamese coffee….) I’m all for variety but this place seems to be having an identity crisis, and doing none of it well.

Hugely overpriced and mediocre food. They close the kitchen at 6, but have failed to adjust their menu accordingly on Grubhub. So when I ordered a sandwich + drink online, they cancelled the sandwich and I ended up paying $13 for a single mediocre drink.

Ordered an espresso macchiato and it was the most bitter, ashy, burnt tasting espresso drink I've ever had. The other drink we ordered, a chai latte, was too sweet but at least drinkable. 100% would make the 5 min drive down the road to Rare Bird coffee roasters before going here again.

Are you interested in milk tea of $5.25+tax+$1 tip with this much ice? I talked to the store associate and I was told it’s the way they make it. Lesson learned: just don’t go there. The reviews are already bad enough. My mistake.
