We decided to step out of our comfort zone for our anniversary dinner. Channel Bass Inn has a reputation of fine dining and it did not disappoint! The staff were attentive, descriptive and very kind. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxing. The set dinner menu was delicious from beginning to end. And we even had a visit from the chef at the end of our meal. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Very interesting place to say the least. Honestly when we walked I was unsure what was going on or if I was in the right place. Breakfast menu was already done for us and they brought out a three course type meal which was pretty good. Really enjoyed the zucchini bread and the oatmeal. Pancakes with ricotta was different but it was the ambience and staff that made this 5 stars.

dio !

My dinner was so absolutely perfect that I returned the next night. That dinner was also flawless.
The food, the service, the room, the building, all incredible!
Hoping to stay at the Inn next time I travel that way.
Thank you all for a job well done!
I wish you continued success,
Mr Cheese.

Nice people but food was atrocious. I get that prices are high for ingredients, but they're cutting corners to ridiculously low levels. I don't care how you spin description, no one wants to eat 3 varieties of ham/cheese sandwich and pretend that somehow it's equal to finger sandwiches in high tea. Or use of deviled egg and apple slices as fillers on the platter. Or justify using cheap Hawaiian roll with imitation American cheese as somehow classy choice! No, crostini is not made out of stale bread, you can taste stale bread for what it is. Scones were even bigger disappointment, baked out of rancid spoiled flour! It literally made us gag. If it had been edible it would be annoying since they present 3 varieties of scones for the table but you can't have one of each variety, so either pick one or cut each scone into small portions and share with your table. Brownie was tolerable but pumpkin roll was clearly store bought and cheap version, again not edible.
Ridiculous doesn't begin to describe their concept of actual tea service. Yes, they have nice choice of black tea, York Gold.. it's the only choice of black tea they had! And even that was offered only as a cup instead of placing the tea pot and a pot with hot water as it should be. Only after we insisted did they finally give us a small pot of tea so we could pour for ourselves.
If you've never experienced real high tea you might enjoy this, but otherwise you will hate it as much as we did. It's really a shame, especially since it's a pretty place. Definitely not going back again.

Beautiful place run by a great husband/ wife team. The tables were set with full Victorian tableware and silverware. …..The service was spot on! So much so, we kindly asked them to slow things down a bit for us. We weren’t in a hurry. All the courses were delicious and done to perfection…..If your tired of the deep fried goodness at the seafood bars come here for something different and worth while!

On a whim we decided to come to Chincoteague on Thursday. Friday we called and we got one of the last two rooms. The hosts, Bill and Kristy (sp?) are so kind and friendly.

We slept well in a comfy king bed.

The breakfast was excellent!!!

Next time we want to make sure we stay over on a night they have dinner.

Everything tasted wonderful! Soup, crab cake (puts Capt.. Zack’s to the test), salad, main course and scrumptious cheesecake! Lovely coffee and wonderful hello by the chefs!

What a delightful stay. Owners/chefs Kristan and Bill, along with an incredibly service-oriented staff, roll out the welcome mat for their guests and could not be more gracious and accommodating. Comfortable rooms and common areas are designed for relaxing. The homemade breakfast included with our room was delicious. A fabulous, multi-course dinner, a great value, is also available and not to be missed. We enjoyed a variety of house-made appetizers, salad, generous entree, sides, dessert and wine. It was a memorable meal and getaway and we'd love to return.

This is the second time my family and I stayed at Channel Bass Inn. The rooms are very clean and the service is exceptionally great. It is first class from the breakfast to the dining experience. They have the best dinners in all of Chincoteague. I strongly recommend Channel Bass for anyone looking for a quiet and cozy place to rest and enjoy great vacations. My wife and kids love it. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful in any way that can make your stay enjoyable. We've been coming to Chincoteague every year and the moment we discovered this place, we have never looked for another place. We cherish our time at Channel Bass and cannot wait for the next opportunity to book this Inn.

Love this place! The food is always excellent, and the service can't be beat. Never had an empty plate in front of me more than a couple of minutes. No rushing and yet no waiting between courses. Cannot say enough about the food. I've learned that there are foods I thought I didn't like simply because I'd never had them properly prepared before! Highly recommend.
