Good food and coffee! Parking can be an issue if farmer's market is taking over the street

Stopped by Montpelier and grabbed a coffee while we were here. The cold brew was great, would definitely come back if we’re ever nearby.

Capitol Grounds feels like Montpelier's version of Starbucks. It's a nice little fresh coffee spot in Vermont's capital that offers a variety of coffee beverages as well as hot cider. You can also pick up several bakery items to hit the hunger spot. Free wifi is available, just ask the staff for the code. Seating is somewhat tight and most tables are often occupied by the remote worker types with their laptops. Staff is friendly and drinks and food is quality.

Coffee cornerstone of Montpelier. Awesome staff! Fresh, made to order light food, good pastry, cookies, and a wide variety of hot and cold beverages. Great gluten free options.

The best coffee on Montpelier. Crowded but excellent coffee & baristas. Seating can be a challenge. Area shots down early -- like 5:00 pm because if Capital hours. Fun, artistic vibe and great music. Free Wi-Fi with purchase. Every type of local and tourist can be found here.

Coffee and drinks are outstanding, but I'm always disappointed with the food. Bakery items are dry, and sometimes lacking flavor. Breakfast burrito I had was good, but was real small for calling it a burrito.

On a road trip through Vermont we stopped in Montpelier for a latre lunch. We didn't know where we were going or what we would find but discovered this little gem. Somehow we found our way to State Street and saw that there were many places to eat so we parked, got out and walked around reading menus. We were looking for sandwiches so after reading a sidewalk sign, we popped in to Capital Grounds. I had an absolutely delicious panini with avocado and artichoke and my husband had a turkey club. He also had a craft beer which I can't tell you the name of, but I had a sip and even as a non beer drinker I thought it was really good. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was nice, kind of reminded me of a library with food, beer and coffee. There were a lot of people there drinking coffee and using the wifi. The prices were very reasonable and we ate every bite of our tasty meal. Definitely would reccommend and if I ever find myself in Montpelier again, I will go back.

Great coffee shop. I love all the dark roast coffees I've bought there. They also have some good food and the atmosphere is very nice.
