I'm not sure whats going on with the quality check. The food used to be amazing. my husband just brought back two cabs. Very easy sandwiches and the avocado is literally SOO black my entire sandwich is black from it. So unappealing! They are both TINY! not worth $26 (with chips, no drinks). I tried calling was told I got a manager when clearly I didn't. The kid just said okay and that was that. My husband was also told no lattes and the person in front of him was told no lettuce. Give us a break. Very sad this is what we got for lunch. I'm only giving one star because you have to select something.

Good food and nice staff. Love their chef salad. The portions on some of their dishes can leave a grown man still hungry.

I went in to order the Eggs Benedict Florentine to go. As I was ordering, one of the chefs offered up that they had salmon today and I could add that to my order. I was thinking it was smoked salmon, and boy was I pleasantly surprised that it was pan fried salmon, fried to perfection and had the most delicious taste and consistency I have ever known salmon to have. The meal was above and beyond my expectations, and the helpful suggestions from the chef was spot on.

The two ladies working here this morning were just so bitter and terrible to be around. Made me feel like every little thing was a chore and they hated their lives and jobs and determined to take it out on everyone around them. Even before she answered the phone, the cashier was let out a huge sigh and exclaim "Oh God" loudly before answering. I couldn't wait to leave and regretted that I had spent so much to sit and eat there. They wouldn't even give me a dry seat to sit on outside, I finally just had to sit on a newspaper. Food wasn't worth that experience.

Breakfast favorite is the Spinach and red onion with tofu or egg white, and side of home fries. And for lunch, bean burrito and fish taco. They're so good! This is one of our favorite restaurants

I have been here several times now and always have been very satisfied with my meal. The staff and the owner are great. They take pride in the food they make and it shows. The prices are very reasonable...affordable even. If you are looking for a solid breakfast or lunch stop, The Firebird Cafe is one of the best in the area.

Right by the Essex train station and an absolute must for breakfast. One of the best sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches I've had. Plus the coffee is surprisingly good.

Everything we ate here was absolutely phenomenal. Locally sourced foods, delicious combinations and friendly staff. An absolute must!!

The food is spectacular, but ever since they moved to this new location the wait times for food have quadrupled. There also isn't any more seating here than there was at the previous location, which means you almost have to take food to-go as a default (which is disappointing if you order any food that comes with things like sauces or dressings).
