I love the food. Wife had the waffle with fruit. It was great. I had the German breakfast Sausage, but they have not been able to get the German Breakfast Sausage for a couple of weeks. I substituted a Braut. It was a really good Braut, but not designed to have with eggs and German potatoes. It’s not their fault, there are no German breakfast sausages available from their supplier.
Wow! What a unique and pleasant surprise of a meal! I would drive out of my way for that unexpectedly sweet, dill gravy and mashed potatoes! The green bean soup with dill was great as well! The Reuben sandwich and Braut were pretty standard, but add the housemate saurkraut and gravy and you're in for a treat! The dill potatoes salad wasn't my favorite (I'm not a fan of bacon bits flavor). As for the breakfast, the omelette was okay. The waffle was a little dry. I would come for lunch instead. I'll be back to try the famous carrot cake! 😋 ***if you liked my review or found it to be helpful give it a thumbs up. 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!
I'm not into spices, so I ordered the Belgian waffles with berries and my husband ordered the bratwurst dinner. We also got a side of potato salad because of the reviews.
The mashed potatoes with tricky gravy was interesting because it was slightly sweet. The sauerkraut wasn't very tart. The potato salad was made with dill, which I've never had. The bratwurst was scrumptious, and I was sad I only got a little bite. The Belgian waffle was to die for. I'm glad I got waffles instead of the dinner. Next time I'm ordering the waffle with a side of bratwurst. Because we're going back!
Smaller than I expected from newspaper reviews, but it lived up to the expectations! The sauerkraut was fresh and flavorful, and that mustard/dill gravy on the potatoes was unique and so tasty! Worth the trip, for sure.
The food is always excellent. We got the kraut burger and the lunch special which was beef goulash and cabbage. It was sooo good. They also have the best carrot cake ever. 🤤
Absolutely delicious. I've eaten at Das Cafe several times. I was able to enjoy a meal last weekend and it was perfect, delicious and had a wonderful time. Would highly recommend eating here!!
Most authentic German food in Utah, You cannot come here without trying the dinner special with the Braut and the amazing dill gravy on the potatoes and the amazing dill potato salad.
I absolutely love the new vegetable omelette and the Mormon mocha. But their most famous item is still probably the carrot cake, people come from all over.
It's been two months since my first visit to Das Cafe and I was so impressed that I'm writing a review now. We were holding a family burial in Mt Pleasant with a large family group. We called Das Cafe an hour before closing and asked if they could accommodate a large group. They welcomed us with open arms. 10 min later our group of about 30 people was seated and ordering from their menu. The food was fast and super tasty. From burgers to waffles to traditional German food and even hot chocolate all 30 of us were impressed with our food. The staff stayed late to accommodate our group and seemed appreciative of our business rather than inconvenienced. We were so impressed. They were a bright spot in a hard day! We will definitely be back when we're traveling through from out of state.
Definitely worth the trip out of the way to this quaint town of Spring City. I ordered the Bratwurst Plate and my wife ordered the Reuben with the delicious potato salad and shared both with me. Loved everything I had eaten, especially the homemade sauerkraut and the gravy. We were ready to order desserts and I decided I wanted to try the Kraut Burger. Oh man! Did not disappoint! Perfectly juicy. We will make the drive again and again to visit the Das Café.
