They no longer serve breakfast/cooked food. We used to come here often to get delicious food and amazing coffee, but today the drive thru was closed and they only had some pastries. I left to find a different place 😕

Walking in the barista greeted us in a friendly way. He was very helpful to help us figure out what we wanted. I got the chai latte and it was delicious. I love the local feel with cool artwork on the wall. The coffee was not overpriced either which is always a great thing! I loved it

Good coffee, good atmosphere but unfortunately it takes one bad customer service experience to earn a terrible rating.
For future instances, please don’t interrupt customers while they’re on a phone call just to tell them the shop is closing in two in a half hours... It’s rude. Sending positive energy your way.

Visited this cafe while visiting family for the holidays and was impressed by this place from start to finish. The cafe has a great vibe, with two levels, and comfortable seating - I imagine it would be a wonderful place to hang out in the summer months... looks like there is an outdoor area as well. My husband and I got coffee and breakfast sandwiches and thought both were delicious. I'm not sure how often I will be back in Utah, but as far as I'm concerned, this place is a hidden gem in the Sandy/Midvale area. If you are nearby, I would absolutely check this place out - I'm sure you'll love it as much as I did.

What a beautiful place! I've been waiting for this place to open for years and my chai with almond milk and croissant are delightful! The croissant is larger than I expected and the gentleman later brought me some fresh cookies to try.
The atmosphere is beautiful and although I'm not one to often buy coffee or tea, I'll be coming here again and again.
The employee told me they're working to add wine and beer to their selection as well hopefully within a month, which is exciting.
Come support and enjoy this local coffee shop and bistro!

Sandy has always desperately needed a reliable coffee shop where someone can have a first date, work meeting or quiet place to study. Athena is it. Even though they aren’t open very late, they make up for it with delicious (albeit a tad pricey) coffee and snacks. Not to mention they frequently have live shows. AND they serve alcohol. It might just be my favorite coffee shop now (sorry, Sunset).

Visiting out of state. Tried this place and end up coming here fo breakfast and coffee every day. AMAZING! Great location, huge space, easy parking, friendly staff. Definitely returning on my next trip.

I lived in Seattle when espresso was becoming popular, coffee shops were everywhere and most of them were short lived, however, the ones who were independent and survived the Starbucks monopoly did so because of the quality of their product.
I had a tiny bakery around the corner from my apartment, they did things correctly, especially the espresso drinks. For years I would get my morning coffee there, so I got used to drinking a superior latte.
I now live in the Salt Lake City area, and almost all the coffee shops are corporate owned, and the machines are all automated. A latte that is at parity with the cup of coffee I took for granted for so many years is illusive, I was beginning to believe that it no longer existed.
Yesterday I dropped my sister off at work and had some time to kill, I was looking for coffee shops near me, and I spent some time looking for a good cup, with no luck. I had all but given up, but the last place on my list was called: Athena Beans, Coffee House and Bistro.
Athena Beans is in a little square with several different businesses. I honestly wasn’t expecting much. The first thing I noticed was the espresso machine and I got into conversation with Matthew about the state of automation in the local espresso market. Matthew pulled a perfect latte; in fact, it may have been the best latte I have ever enjoyed.
I didn’t eat anything there, but if the coffee represents the food, it is going to be delicious. I am so happy to have found this place, it is a hidden gem.

Great spot, spacious, with tons of room and a great vibe. The coffee was great, and we'll be looking forward to coming back soon.

What a gem of a coffee shop hidden in Sandy! So peaceful in there, I love it! I enjoyed the calm atmosphere. My giant 4 shot iced latte was also a big plus, glad they have food options available!
