Over the dozen or so times I've been here I have found that this is just an unreliable business. Sometimes it's a good experience, others not so much. I don't even mind the apathetic, unprofessional, and generally disengaged customer service from the staff... It's kind of a throwback to the coffee shops of the 90s that I used to visit when I was a kid. The problem here is that of the many times I've given this business a try, the coffee has never came out tasting good, the prices are on the higher side, and certain staff members are a little too much to take. Like I said, I don't need my rear end to be kissed, but when I have to stand outside the front door and wait for a staff member to finish their cigarette so the front door can be unlocked and my order to be taken, all during business hours mind you, then that apathetic charm loses its appeal. Today I went through the drive-thru at 8 a.m. and the entire place was closed and locked. No employees inside, no lights on. Did this place get shut down or condemned? Or do they just keep hiring employees that don't care about showing up to work? I think today was the last straw with me and Rise & Grind Coffee. Which is sad, because I would rather support a local business than a chain store, but at this point I feel like they've made my decision for me.

Decent coffee but the barista seemed pretty put out. I guess taking my order AND making my drink was a lot.
I never went back because, really, who needs to feel like a burden so early in the morning, before that very important first dose of caffeine? I didn't exactly want to be there either. A friendly smile, or even a modicum of politeness would've gone far.

Super Cozy Remodel and the Staff is Very Friendly Too, I am thinking it has a New Owner or New Management. Seating is Comfortable and the Prices are Very Reasonable. It seems to attract a more sophisticated and friendly crowd than some of the other coffee shops in the area. Everything is Clean and the Staff is Attentive when you are at the Counter which is Lacking at a lot of other Places. The Breakfast Sandwiches are Surprisingly Good and I find myself stopping just for them sometimes. I am Comfortable taking my Kids who are 5, 12 and 14 and they Love the Hot Chocolate. Great place to unwind for 20 minutes after work before I hit home.

I love this place! We went for the first time last July (2020) and we went the morning of our trip home. Big mistake. Wish we had found it the day we got there oh so good! The first time we had it I didn’t get to go in. Themis last weekend I went in twice!!! I love this place. The coffee to die for. The employee so nice. The company all around just good! Selling local art. Holding meetings for addictions (16 years for me) makes me happy. If they open one in my town (Boise) I will be a regular, they WILL get sick of me. Lol. I recommend the snicker F#£¥er (censored for google)

If you want to hear a great group of people share their experience strength and hope. Sunday nights 8 o'clock. Do it!!! It may save your life!!!

Full disclosure, I work here at Rise and Grind. Now that is out of the way I just have to say that I love this place! This is THE coffee shop to come to if you want to have somewhere that accepts you for exactly who you are, no matter what. The connection to the 12 step community is amazing, and I really love how we support local other Utah companies. (Like Pando Coffee)

Fun little shop, the coffee was great (iced nutty Irishman). It was pretty slow, I hung out and worked for a couple of hours. Not the most comfortable chairs for long study sessions or working.

Lots of variety, cozy atmosphere. Loved the red coffee; I am pretty sure it is just rooibos, but it is delicious nonetheless. There is a huge list of specialty drinks, so if you love to try something new each visit there are plenty of reasons to return. They even take steps to personalize to you a little. Love it!

Their secret menu is awesome and what I've tried tastes great. They have a friendly staff. The walls are covered with local art. Dinging it one star because I didn't care for their basic drip coffee. Couches are awesome and if you need a fun place to chill, this is it.

I do not plan to return to this place. The customer service was deplorable. As I walked in, I was questioned about buying a drink which was unprofessional. I felt unwelcomed. The young lady who made my drink had an open conversation about smoking weed with a customer. I requested a green tea latte, and it was gross. This place cannot be called a coffee house without an up to para tea assortment. I took a drink and trashed the rest. The site was not clean, and the staff permits its customers to let their dog running around unleashed. The first thing I did when I got home, took a shower and washed the clothes I was wearing.
