Let me start by saying that diner food is my favorite. I decided to try Tangies given its status as a mom and pop diner.
I ordered the French Toast Special and a side of scones. All the flavors were perfect--the sausage was cooked perfectly, the eggs were very flavorful, and as others have mentioned, the blackberry syrup is delicious! The French toast was a little soft to my taste, but again, the taste was there.
Scones were hot and fresh with a little crispness. Best I've found in the area. I will definitely be back, if only for those. :)
Notes for first timers:
- Seat yourself when you walk in. No need to wait for anyone to assist you. (I got confused and went to the counter first)
- Pay at the counter when you are done eating. You will not get a check at your table.
- I was the only person under 40 in the entire establishment for the half hour I was there
- Other reviews I've read say it's a little hostile to newbies but I did not experience that.

Waited 45 mins for food. There was still 2 tables ahead of us who hadn’t gotten their food yet. We ended up leaving. I was not going to wait another 20 mins to get my food. It wasn’t even busy when we got there so I don’t understand what the issue was.

The pancakes were great and the garbage hash browns were to die for! Decent ambiance, not too loud or big.

Tangies is great if you are looking for an old fashioned, down home, everyone knows your name vibe. The inside of the place is run down but that is a part of the vibe. The food is made with love but nothing outside of the ordinary. If you are wanting a warm meal at a good price, this place is perfect.

The food that we had was great! The customer service is very down to earth and attentive. They brought us a variety of condiments and a couple of sweet toppings such as blackberry and boysenberry syrup for our food. The prices are very affordable as well! If you sit at the window you can have a nice view of the street and it's vintage feel. And the place was clean and very cute!

Really nice folks. Felt very comfortable being here. We got eggs, waffles, coffee. We came here because of the wealth of high reviews. Love the idea of a hole-in-the-wall diner having delicious grub. Sadly, the grub and coffee was very average. Won’t visit again.

I walked in Tangies for the first time and asked them what they were famous for and they said "garbage hash browns". So I ordered some up. The hash browns had everything in them, then I had two eggs over easy placed on top and then they poured their homemade gravy over all. It was amazing.

Diners are meant to be slower-paced, and I love supporting local food, but I've tried going here and they just ignored us for a bizarrely long time 😅
If you try it, you might wait 40 minutes while watching other people eat who came in long after you did. It was weird!

Definitely a small local place in a small town.. Looks worn down.
Ordered typical american breakfast.. Food is bland, flavorless. No seasoning. AT ALL. How can you cook without seasonings???? BAFFLING!
I certainly wouldn't go there again next time I visit this town.
The one star is for the waitress that was nice and very thoughtful to us and our baby.

This place was super busy, full of locals, and had great specials. I had the french toast, and felt like everything was cooked well. Even though it was busy the service wasn’t slow, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It’s a little run down and the seating wasn’t great, but I had a nice time and breakfast was delicious.
