The Blockhouse

Fantastic little place. I had the brisket hash and caramel iced latte and my boyfriend has the sausage and biscuits. Everything was very delicious, the brisket was super melt in your mouth tender. The staff was friendly and kept on top of everything. Will definitely be back the next chance we get!

The BEST spot for breakfast, brunch and lunch! My favorite are the waffles with blueberries. The grilled chicken sandwich is another favorite for lunch. The fresh pastries and treats are a must try! Had the best Mocha coffee of my life!! Highly recommend. Don't let the line on the weekend deter you from staying and eating. It moves fast and you won't regret it once you get your order to the take! My favorite place and it's right down the road. Couldn't be happier. BONUS: They have a DRIVE-THRU window!

This restaurant is run by a magnificent, friendly family and their awesome staff. The sweets are bakery delicious and the menu has something for everyone. My husband's favorite is the chicken fried steak breakfast but we love trying everything!

This is not just the best place in St Hedwig, it's one of the best breakfast and coffee/latte joints in the entire San Antonio area. Breakfast is always fresh, generous portion, and delicious. Brisket hash is awesome. Eggs always on point. Staff is supper friendly. Owner truly cares about the customers. Now, let's talk about the coffee. Turk (that's what we call him) runs the coffee/tea/latte/espresso section. He is an artist with coffee. Best lattes hands down. We literally go at least 3-5 times a week it's so good. Warning, if you try the latte, you may become addicted.

If you’re looking for a place to sit down and enjoy breakfast, this is not the place for you. Dining room area is closed and only a long wait in the drive through is available and staff recommends you sit in your vehicle to eat. Of course you only learn of this after you’ve made the drive out. I will not be back to this place.

Great country style food and excellent service. It has a relaxing environment and is a hidden gem. The building is old, but you wouldn't know it by looking. They did an amazing job on the remodel.

My son and I visited The Blockhouse for the first time this morning. I'm in my 70's and I can honestly say those were the best biscuits I've ever had in my life! We both ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy. Absolutely outstanding!!!

Literally our favorite place to grab brunch. Service is always top notch and so is the food. It's a little bit pricey but it's completely, 100% worth it. I don't like arugula but I absolutely devoured the arugula salad, it's just so delicious! I also highly recommend the wafflewich and the egg sandwich alongside a strawberry lemonade. It's a little loud inside but as long as you don't mind that, it's the perfect spot to grab brunch. Even their plain drip coffee is amazing, coming from a barista.

Great food. Great service. A bit noisy with a full house on Mothers Day morning, but the staff were humming along to keep things moving like a fine tuned watch. I highly recommend the Block House. My only complaint is they are only opened 4 days a week.

It was hard to choose a meal! All the food looked amazing. Service was fast and everyone was very friendly. Outside seating area provides a great view. Food was delicious. Must try all the baked goods!
