Got here at 11am Sunday , waited in line for 30 minutes and line only moved 5 feet. Numerous tables open with no customers at them. Front counter was highly disorganized and having hard time processing orders. We left, so i cannot give the place a favorable review, dod not get to try their fare.

Our server was awesome and props to the kitchen! I ordered something special for my 11 month old and they delivered some amazing food! I got him a blueberry pancake and sauteed veggies and they were perfect. He loved the veggies they made him. I highly recommend you visit this place. Just a short hop off 71. 😊

Great friendly service with nice outside dining area. Thing are a little different here start inside pick your food from the board on the wall. Suggest donation is $10 a plate. This is a cafe that is run by a non profit. Go good food and your giving a helping hand.

This place is awesome!!! Such a cool vibe, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, huge portions, and super tasty food! What a fantastic menu w a lot of selections. We love the cause behind the concept too. Definitely try a little bit of everything to share.

When I say I love this place I mean I LOVE this place. They have become such a staple for family weekend breakfasts that I have countless fond memories here. The food is amazing the vibe is even better. I don't think you can leave this place hungry or sad. A true blessing in our town.

WOW! My wife and I heard through the grapevine the comfort cafe had the best food in Bastrop/smithville. Our standards were set very high and to our surprise exceeded our expectations! We have lived all over California, Oregon, and Washington and I am here to tell you this was thee best food We have ever experienced. Truly a culinary delight. The Texas Benny, classic Benny, stuffed French toast and strawberry crepes are delicious.

Great place! One of the best eggs benedicts I've had in a long while. Incredibly attentive staff. Works purely on donations.

My Mother-in-law owns an Airbnb just around the corner from this place (google Ruby’s Foxcroft Cottage-you won’t be disappointed!) and occasionally we get to come out on unbooked weekends. Eating here is by far the thing we get the most excited about! The stuffed French toast is the stuff of dreams, and I’m a pretty picky person when it comes to French toast. Looking forward to many more meals here in the future!

Amazing service, amazing food, fun and inviting atmosphere! The staff is very courteous and friendly, and they make an effort to connect with their patrons on a personal level. The best part of all is that it’s all for a good cause to benefit Serenity Star. A charity helping those who struggle with addiction. The portions are more than generous and they only ask that you donate $10 per plate, which IMO is cheap for what you’re getting. Definitely my new favorite breakfast place in SA!

Amazing organization and people. Nothing is priced on the menu, you choose the donation but suggested price per plate was about $10 and $5 for a drink, as per what they suggest. It definitely is worth the wait we had today but to was quite busy. The food was amazing, the kids are in love with this place. Lone Star plates , kids breakfast plate and hamburger. All so good!
