Absolute "must do" when exploring the hidden gems of Texas. Food is downright amazing and cooked with love. The pies are to die for, so make sure you're good with Jesus before you go. :-)

Never disappoints! The grilled shrimp BLT is fabulous ... and you just cannot leave without at least one slice of pie. The Junkberry pie was a delicious way to end the meal today.

Well we didn’t even have a chance to eat here because they don’t usually do reservations but of course when we tried to go they wouldn’t seat us. The women was incredibly rude and scoffed at us not knowing it was our first time. Very rude and also not a great atmosphere anyway.

Went on a Friday around 6pm. Don’t expect to be greeted upon entrance. At least we didn’t receive it. This is a small town place and the employees know who are the regulars and who is new to the restaurant. So when you enter of course you have all the customers staring you down but that’s okay. Ordered Tod’s pork tenderloin with creamed corn and mashed potatoes. I ordered Micah’s Salmon with creamed corn and mashed potatoes which was delicious. They brought us 3 rolls to start. Food was hot and delicious! My wife’s tenderloin was juicy and flavorful! We asked for more rolls and received a unhappy look. I was a little worried about tasting the creamed corn but that was my favorite dish. Went back on a Sunday around 11:30 a.m. walked in and of course the staff doesn’t notice you only the customers. After standing we decide to sit ourselves, finally someone comes to our table. We ordered the fried chicken with creamed corn and mashed potatoes. I was so excited to eat the corn and mashed potatoes since they were great days before. Food took a while. As we began to eat, the food was COLD. There’s nothing special about the fried chicken, just the hype in my opinion. Really cold! While we were eating, some Vietnamese ladies walked in, no one attended to them they stood there which made us uncomfortable for them. They finally sat after at least 10 minutes. Then they waited another 20 minutes for someone to come take their order and that only happened because they flagged someone down. I understand you have regulars but you would think they would be welcoming to visitors because those visitors are the ones that go back to their towns and talk about how great the restaurant was and refer people to go there.
Blueberry lemon pie was excellent!!!! Loved that pie!
Walked out happy the first time but extremely disappointed the second time.

I had the Sunday special, fried chicken, cream corn, mash potatoes, and paired with a sweet tea...so good I stood up and said the pledge of allegiance. Followed up with a butter milk pie. All amazing. I would recommend getting there early, it's a small place. Also they have a creepy clown baby thing by the bathrooms.

It's atmosphere and the pie. If you are in this area highly recommend a stop for pie. The place is unique and the service is fantastic. Menu won't disappoint but it's the pie you have to have.

Stopped in for lunch while in Roundtop. The pie was the best ever.

Went for lunch while passing through town during the "off season". Pork loin was very tender, grits were easily best I have eaten, creamed corn was on point. It is a small space and gets packed and noisy. Service was better than average. Short wait time, will for sure go back again. Get some sweet tea for the ride home, too!

Royer’s Round Top Cafe is the place to go for pies between Austin and Houston or just for a day trip. Depending on the season, there are a few days each week they are closed. Make sure you check online prior. I had just eaten lunch but definitely want to go back to there for food. It looked and smelled great. The buttermilk pie, the one I got, was delicious. Drooling once again as I type this.

The burgers were great. The pie was awesome. It's busy, so service sometimes is a bit slow, but it's busy for a reason: it's a fun place to stop in and try.
