We arrived at the restaurant on a beautiful Saturday morning… right ahead of us was family A. After us various other families arrived… after waiting for about half hour for our food to arrive I go to the counter and ask for a pastry. Exhibit 1: On my way in I notice another table having the same order as me and there are fruits in that order, which is a savory one, in the same basket. Because I don’t like savory and sweet mixed, I saw a young server and asked if I could substitute the fruit for something else. As I was talking, arrives the more senior server and says “ what’s the problem”… a simple request had just turned into a problem! I said there is no problem just a request. The response was no, there are no substitutes… ok… then I request if I could have the fruits in a totally separate basket. Then I receive the response “ I don’t think so, I’ll ask the chef but I cannot promise anything”. Very impolite service and definitely not doing much to keep the customer satisfied with a reasonable request. Plus… “the chef”?? Really? A córner store? A chef who would refuse to put the fruits on s separate basket?? … I said ok, I’ll go back outside with a pastry to munch on something and whatever happens happens. Then EXHIBIT 2: another 15 minutes pass, I notice that Family A is already finishing their food, similar food to ours, and they are getting ready to go. Another family who arrived well after us has already been served!! Us, nothing! I go inside I ask to cancel the order, then that server goes “no I think it’s getting ready”… ok… another 15 minutes and then I go back inside asking to finally cancel the order, and then the server goes into the kitchen and finally brings it back. I rarely leave reviews but this one is well deserved and hopefully the management will fix some problems

I finally had a day off to take my 10 yr old daughter to this special place. She dreams of visiting France. We were so happy and loved every minute of our visit. The staff spoiled us, the setting was joyful and relaxing. The food and coffee were both out of this world. We can't wait to go back. Thanks again Le Citron for such a special time. Some places are gifts, and this gorgeous café was exactly that.

Very slow service. We waited 1 hour for our order. It was just scrambled eggs and mashed potato which should not take 1 hour to make it. They brought the food when we are about to leave. I give 2 star because of the interior design, however I am very upset about the service.

Come here for outside seating, people watching and good coffee. My cappuccino was fantastic. Now, the service is not great. I’m not sure what it is. Non-existent, really. Typical, for the market, I suppose. Our food was fine, though, and the building is very cool. Again, come here for the street seating, coffee and light-eats. It gets the job done.

Stopped for lunch as we wanted something light. We ordered paninis. I had a lavender lemonade and my husband had a regular lemonade. I would definitely get the lavender lemonade again! The paninis were okay…nothing special but I’d stop by again for a light lunch.

We ordered simple food (crepes, croissants) and waited about 30 minutes then food came wrong. Waited again for 25 minutes then left. UNBELIEVABLE. Got refunded of course as we got nothing. Only wasted an hour of our day (Date of my visit was 20 March).

I love this place! It's very cozy and gives off a really beautiful atmosphere, the food is so delicious and carefully made and variety of drinks to choose from. However, I noticed they seem a bit short handed on employees, and the orders seem to take forever because of it! When I call to order for pickup, they never seem to answer or the line is unavailable for 20 minutes. I love supporting business like these, so I wish the best for Le Citron! You still have my loyalty to your business.

A lovely Cafe to visit! The food is very delicious and service is wonderful, the weekends are more busy so some things take longer but it is a sit and relax style shop, so you could very easily spend several good hours just hanging out if you aren't in a rush! The week days are slower pace and much faster service if that is what you are looking for!

Le Citron was easily a five star experience. Drove from SA to downtown New Braunfels to try this place after being advertised to me on Facebook.
Ordered a panini, soup, and dessert crepe + coffee drinks. Everything was impressive and made with love.
This place is Family owned and ran. Be prepared to wait for excellent quality food and service.

I had the authentic Hungarian styled goulash and it was great! I bought several cookies and took them home for my family. This is a new business and they’re working hard. There’s great area in the back to have coffee in the morning or maybe a small meeting. Their decor is really unique in town. If it looks like an ice cream place (I don’t think so), it looks like a quaint, cheerful place from outside our country. I’m coming back and bringing my family.
