Been to better places I always try the place twice just in case in my opinion the first visit on a Sunday place was over crowd at 9 pm no place for seating over 12 for a glass of cheap proseco wine expensive for a reg.relax cofee shop spend over 25 bucks just for my self on a glass of wine , coffee and a alfajor ..Second visit this past weekend on a Saturday at 5 pm still no place for sitting and 30 bucks for a cappuchino , mocha , small brownie and 1 slice od pound cake expensive for what is worth it ..Coffee is not even that good .
Very, very cool spot to chit chat with a friend or stranger. Coffee is on point. Not a lot to eat but there are some sweets. If you're hungry make sure to get something before 11ish as other establishments close by that serve food closes down while Agora puts the street to bed! There's always Velvet Taco down the road if you are out late!
The atmosphere is excellent, generally quiet with the low hum of conversation and music. Can't say anything bad about this place, it really feels like a place out of time!
After many suggestions from friends and family to check out Agora, I went with my boyfriend and we loved it! I got the seasonal pecan cold brew with oat milk and a vegan cinnamon roll. They have a wide array of treats for many dietary preferences and the coffee is divine. The atmosphere is so charming and the staff members were kind. The outside patio was perfect for a Saturday morning coffee date - plenty of room to spread out and be socially distant. Will definitely be visiting again!
Great shop with a unique vibe. Would love to see more distinctly Greek offerings on the menu to coincide with the theme of the place but well worth a visit.
The first sense to be activated upon arrival was that of smell. I did not receive a smell of fresh roasted coffee or baked goods. Instead, I was welcomed with notes of musty weed and the familiar smell of sanitation product from the bathroom. Next impression was on the sight of this place. Rustic and warm like a warm cup of chai latte. Perhaps the rustic nature of the place was overplayed. The upper level of agora is almost uncomfortable with uneven floors. I felt as I imagine someone with Vertigo might on the upstairs level. The product was delivered to me quickly, quicker than usually expected. The speed was brought to me by what appeared to be seasoned professionals. The drinks; iced house could brew and chai latte were very refreshing as I had to sample both before making the ascent on the uneven stairs. Price for two drinks was under $10 at around $8. Lighting is atmospheric and tones down the effect of the caffeinated beverages. WI-FI had very low performance as I was left waiting for minutes on an app to download. I give Agora’s 6/10 with the performance of the service and quality of beverages lifting it above the grind.
Comfortable seating, calm atmosphere, not a lot of artificial light, mature diners (not overrun with youngins), and accommodating baristas.
I asked them if I could ask for more chocolate in the future when I order a mocha frappe and they surprisingly offered right on the spot to add more to my drink.
The only gripe I have is that I had to circle the block twice to find parking. So expect to look for a parking spot during busy hours. After all, Montrose is a densely populated part of town.
rustic log cabin style coffee shop that smells heavenly as you walk in, doubles as a spot to get some wine, sangria or bottled beers then sit on the breezy patio facing westheimer. gotta come back soon!
Atmosphere is great. I ordered the highly recommended Lavender Latte and didn't disappoint me at all. It's a very tight place as far as seating goes but very enjoyable place to study

Super busy. The smoothie had large chunks of ice. No where to sit. But really like the vibe. Would go back.

Always have to stop in when I am in the area! Great coffee, quiet and great vibe to have a conversation with a friend or get some work done!
