Delicious, original drinks that are way better and so much more affordable than that huge coffee chain that just opened in our little town. Plus, this spot is right downtown - a really unique, historical, little area. The workers I have met are very friendly and they whip up your order quickly. Lots of cute gifts are also sold here. Shop local and small businesses!

We made it a work space for use. We will be back. Look forward to trying the coffee...

I try to support our local businesses but I can’t support chem cafe anymore. The woman that works there, presumably the owner, is always rude! And the quality of the coffee and tea doesn’t justify the price.

Omg! I go there to relay and drink there delicious hot chocolate... okay and a danish roll! The service is excellent and the items on the menu are so good!

I was very happy to make the time and go get breakfast before going to work! Great muffin, some egg bites, and a WONDERFUL cup of coffee! I look forward to my next visit when I pick up the 10 muffins you're making for me!

They do a good job of keeping up with the community with live music, kids story times and always open when events are going on downtown.

Monica and her staff are amazing. They will help you customize your drink, suggest amazing combinations, and their knowledge of coffee, tea, and other refreshments is amazing. The store front is artsy and welcoming and the interior just as homey. You really feel like you are in a welcoming atmosphere when you enter. I recommend Chem Cafe to anyone that lives in Elgin but also for anyone passing through, to experience the atmosphere of welcome with a cup of their amazing drinks and baked goods!

I loved the barista and the chemistry theme! The drinks were phenomenal and she was so attentive asking how we like the drinks and helping without selections!!

Sometimes a person just needs a delicious latte and this little coffee shop is just the place to get it. My husband and I stopped by and were pleasantly surprised at finding this gem of a coffee shop in downtown Elgin amid little stores and antique shops. The shop owner, Monica, is very friendly and easy to talk to, and best of all she makes a killer iced vanilla latte! The shop is warm and inviting, and clean. We will definitely be back!
