Summer Moon Coffee

My first time visiting. Nice place, good location as is on my way to work! I got the iced 4 shots of espresso (sorry can't remember the actual name) and the spinach quiche. I can relate to them story of how they came about, I'm a Christmas baby and my name means the moon, so was this place calling my name all along!?!? :-) I loved it, I will be going back to sample other items and more importantly the coffees!!

Recently-opened coffee shop at the northeast corner of Midway and Northwest Highway offers Austin-style decor and a wide variety of coffee options. Whether your go-to is the $2 cup of house blend joe, a lavender-infused Blue Moon Latte, or a nitrogen infused cold brew, there is surely something on the menu for everyone. I tried the Half Winter moon, which is an espresso drink blended with their signature Moon Milk and it was delicious! A sweet iced drink with a hint of wood fired coffee bean flavor that I would take over a Starbucks blend any day of the week. Signature drinks are a little on the pricey side averaging $5 or so, but definitely worth an occasional treat. If you stop by during busy hours, be sure to download the app and order ahead!

First time in today. Loved the atmosphere - bright and airy. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. They let me try a sample of their nitro brew black - interesting taste; I liked it. They also had me try the moon milk, their house brand sweet cream - super yummy! I had already decided on the strawberry refresher, though, which, unfortunately, was too sweet for my taste. I also tried the macarons, which I also found lacking. BUT I will definitely be going back to get a full coffee and try other items. They also have a small shelf with toys to occupy small children - very thoughtful gesture. Again, lovely place I look forward to visiting again soon!

$0.75 to add oat milk to my drip coffee? You’ve got to be kidding. Food cost on that was 4 cents…what a rip off.

I drive by this place on the way to work and decided to stop in this morning, tried a drip coffee and a ham/cheese croIssant, I was pleasantly surprised by both, really enjoyed the coffee. I found the coffee to have a great flavor and was well balanced, I finished the cup and found myself wishing I had gotten a larger cup. The croissant was also enjoyable, good proportion of ham and good flavor. I will be stopping here again.

The northwest highway neighborhood has been in the need of a coffee shop with better coffee than Starbucks. After the short lived State Street Coffee inside the Bluffview growler, I was excited for the opening of a summer moon in the old Starbucks location.

Yes, while I understand it’s the heat of the summer, and cold brew has to be made in a toddy bucket everyday….and nitro cold brew has to be prepared daily….how are you going to be out drip coffee at 6pm.

Maybe they are still trying to get their coffee pour’s together, but when you don’t have drip available, that says something.

I’ll still come back, but maybe earlier when drinks are actually available.
