This place is steeped in history, and I think so are the pots they cook in , I say this because I am sure my southern grandmother would approve. Last visit, I had a thin fried pork chop , green beans , blackeye peas, and a yeast roll that only was not perfect because it was cold. If you have to go to the restroom and step into the hall of the hotel , you have stepped back in time , and there are pictures of long ago. It's so interesting. So if you are driving thru Blessing , slow down and have lunch , but stop between 11 and 2, or you are out of luck, and I would say the closer to 11, the better. For 14.00, you get salad , lunch , drink, and dessert. It is a deal. 5 you better have cash , no credit / debit cards here!!

First time there today, March 2021. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, turnip greens, cornbread(southern style), peach cobbler, all you can eat for 10$. We were there on a Sat at noon and it was not crowded, not a real big dining area. You don't wait long to get your food because it is sitting on the stove in the back room. The menu is very simple, a couple choices for meat and the same for vegetables, a salad and desert and if you want more or you want to try something else just ask. If you've never tried this place it's worth the stop.
Serving is back to buffet style on this second trip to the Hotel, Oct 2021. Food just as good as last time, well worth the visit.

Going to the Blessing Hotel is well worth the trip. We went on Friday and ate the fish. Delicious! Awesome atmosphere!

Bring cash, they don't accept credit cards. Lunch was nice today, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, white rice, pepper steak, buttered yams, pinto beans, and a whole lot of other foods including salad! Should have gone on Friday for the fried fish. Maybe next time. Staff was nice and friendly. Will be back again, soon.

Words cannot describe how wonderful a home cooked meal can make your day. We stopped by on a cold Sunday and enjoyed the best meal in a very long time. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, stuffing, pickled beets, cranberries. This will be worth a special trip next time.

Texas dining experience as never seen before. Walk in, grab a plate, serve yourself, find a table, all you can handle. There is corn, green beans, rice, potatoes, chicken dumplings, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, liver n onions, cream gravy, rolls, cornbread, and a salad bar. Dessert was a peach cobbler and cherry cobbler.

A little off the beaten path but a blast from the past. Great food and atmosphere, service was late and needed a little help. Still suggest trying an old establishment and soak in the heritage.

The hotel, built in 1906 is definitely worth seeing. The cash only Coffee Shop and restaurant were less so as the food and service did not live up to expectations. Think if it as a diamond in the rough that, with a bit of investment could be turned into a regional draw.
