Great coffee, baked goods, & brunch/lunch items.

I recommend the avo toast with soup. (I believe the recent soup du jour was something like African peanut-style red soup. Whatever it was, it was amazing.)

We stopped at this place on our way to Houston looking for a good coffee and a place to stretch our legs and get our kid out of the car for a bit. The kid was not screaming, running around or anything like that. We were sitting down having a conversation. The place was supposed to close at 6; however, 15 minutes in we basically got kicked out (it was 3:30pm). Coffee was ok but our order was incorrect.

We needed a baker who could make gluten free cakes/pies for our wedding and deliver to the Bastrop area and Tough Cookie was an excellent recommendation. They made us a fantastic, beautifully decorated cake based on pictures we found on pinterest and other sites, with one GF tier and two non-GF tiers, plus a groom’s pie that was GF and chocolate pecan. It was all fantastic and exactly what we wanted, for a surprisingly great price.

You’ll miss this place if you aren’t looking for it. Nice, cute little cafe. Lots of coffee and tea options. Bakery was delicious, ice cream was decent but nothing to crave. Has a kid area with toys. Great family friendly place.

We love Tough Cookie. First of all, every single person is just genuinely nice. Their food and drinks are really good. I also love that I can get healthy food that taste really great, but also treat myself when I want to. Definitely check them out!

Comfortable ambience, tables not crowded together, friendly servers. The caprese salad was delightful, every component fresh, tasty, and beautifully arranged, at the peak of summer perfection. The "Hot Mess" biscuit and vegan gravy with eggs, and cheddar and vegan sausage was warm and filling, the flavors were balanced and satisfying. The cookies are temptingly displayed, and there are many choices, including gluten-free. Very enjoyable, first-time experience. I'll be back!

I love this place they make the best vegan sandwiches and great coffee and other drinks and lots of vegan cookies and brownies and other delicious goodies!! If your in the neighborhood you need to stop by plus the staff is awesome!!

I happened upon this place and am so grateful I did. The rustic home made charm of this place is punctuated by the ever changing display of local artisans on the walls.
I was dubious of "vegan" bakery items, fearing they would be low on flavor, but have found the opposite to be true. The service is great and the people are so friendly.
It is a great place to unwind after a day of shopping downtown.

Very cute local bakery with a lot of character! We only had the cookies and ice cream (sweet tooth!), and they were delicious!
