We went here but accident, the breakfast food truck that we intended to visit was closed. Food sounded interesting, Taiwanese street food, so we decided ru give it a try.

Best. Mistake. Ever!

The food is so, soooo good. Excellent flavor, great portion size. And very reasonable pricing. I honestly can't wait to go back.

Amazing Taiwanese street food for super cheap prices. Highly recommend the #8 box, which has a huge helping of chicken and rice for only $5. Sometimes i cant even finish because it's so much food. The owners are super friendly which makes it just that much greater! Definitely give this place a try if you are passing by UT

Song La is located next to Angels Care & Learning Center (which by the way is the best daycare in Austin) at the Big Thicket food truck park. I decided to get a to go order for my kids. We ordered Taiwanese Fried chicken nuggets and chicken on the bone.

I probably ordered too much, but the prices were excellent. My kids are still munching on the fried chicken a couple of days later and they cannot get enough. The sauce is delicious as well. The chicken has a different flavor and texture from American chicken and is a welcome change.

Everything was made from scratch after we ordered. The lady at the food truck was super nice and friendly.

We will definitely be repeat customers.

I got the chicken bites bento box. The portion was amazing! Food tastes very good also. Would definitely come back to try out the other bento boxes

I love this food, Song La is delicious. It used to be parked up by UT and selfishly I’m glad they moved to thicket food park so I can access them more easily from my house! The food is delicious, aromatic, flavorful, and reasonably priced. So good. And the owner is an absolute gem, she is always a pleasure to interact with.

I got the pork belly bento, and everything was delicious. It came with the meat on top of some rice, with two vegetables, broccoli and cabbage(the sign said seasonal veggies so this might change), a marinated boiled egg, and two sauces. It was a very nice amount of food for the price. I will be eating there again.

Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit).

Whether you've had Taiwanese food before and are craving it or just want to try some incredible fried chicken in a cool South Austin spot, definitely give them a try. ❤️

This place is TASTY. The food is freshly made and served hot. The breading on their chicken is nicely seasoned and crispy. The porkchops are tender. The braised tofu that comes with their bento box leaves you wanting more. Great place to grab a quick bite for lunch.

Awesome authentic Taiwanese food! Love their pork belly buns, chicken bites, braised pork rice, pork chop bento, and bubble tea. Basically everything! Lol. Shirley and Alex are super friendly, too. Thank you guys for the awesome food!
