Song La is the top gem of all the Asian food trucks in Austin. It provides authentic Taiwanese food, including variety of selections of bento boxes and light snacks such as popcorn chicken.

We tried their bento box a few years ago, and fell in love with it immediately. What I recommend the most would be their pork chop and the fried chicken. They are crispy on the outside, juicy, and tender inside. You might be able to make your own bento at home, but it’s so hard to beat how Song La marinated and seasoned their ingredients. We now live 45 minutes away north from their Thicket location, and we make sure we still do regular visits. This is how good their food is.

One other tip is to take the advantage of their online order system. It’s so convenient and Shirley always makes sure you get the food hot and crispy. I’m drooling while typing this review. You should try Song La soon if you haven’t!

I'm impressed! I ordered the basil fried chicken bento box, the portion is generous and the chicken is so fresh and yummy. Her chili oil is amazing too! Everything is impeccable 👌 I highly recommend it!

The best Taiwanese food in Austin period! Delicious, authentic, and huge portion at a wonderful location. Must try! Keep up the amazing work!

I got the Veggie Bento Box and it was delicious. It had the right amount of crisp and very flavorful. I will definitely be coming back again to try other items on the menu.

Some of the most authentic Taiwanese Bento boxes you'll find in Austin (coming from a Taiwanese guy). Popcorn chicken is cooked to perfection, light & crispy on the outside and juicy within. The braised pork is amazing as well, and don't sleep on the winter melon/lychee drinks!

Food was amazing, we got the chicken bites and the sauce it came with was out of this world. Definitely worth the small wait time. Chicken was fried perfectly and it was all made fresh. 10/10 will be back. Straight bussin’ bussin’ no cap fam.

Super good food, can't wait to come back! Had chicken bite and pork chop bentos and the tofu chi. Besides delicious taiwanese spice blends I've been missing for years, the portions were generous and there were great amounts of veggie sides too. Thicket food Park is cute and kid friendly, lots of options if someone in your group feels like something else.

Their chicken bites are so tasty but take a very long time (30+minutes) but that's okay, the park is lively and pleasant. There is often live music playing. The lady in the truck is always super friendly. No veggie options, it's all little meat bowls with rice.

Forgot to take photos of the popcorn chicken (Chicken Bites), but this is the best Taiwanese Chicken in town! Also got to try the Ji Pai, an enormous fried chicken breast, but it's a limited edition item that might renew in the fall? Very affordable and fresh food that tastes like home!

Also ordered the pork belly bento, portion is huge and good for two meals. Missed out on the Taiwanese cabbage this time. Tea egg is a must!

I assume she was the owner, but she is the sweetest person who happened to detect that I could speak Chinese~

For those who don't come downtown often, there's a garage right in front of the trucks you can get validated for an hour~

Hands down best you can get in the US.
The braised belly and popcorn chicken are authentic and absolutely delicious. Can’t get this quality any where else in Texas or CA that I have personally found. Order ahead. Wait can be long at times!
