Cattleman's Cafe

I used to love going to eat here because the staff is always friendly and make you feel like family and the food always tasted like a home cooked meal,, but the last 2 times my husband and I went and ate there, we got very sick a few hours later and was sick for a few days after.

This is one of Amarillo's oldest most loved dine in, booth sitting, waitress having restaurants.
They serve everything from breakfast to a lite dinner and. Very good service that will.assured check on you the correct way.
Food is always brought out all at once so the family can eat together..coffee is aleays hot and a great conversation will always be at hand...
If you are only visiting with us in Amarillo; try to get to the Cattlemans Cafe they will turn a frown upside down..

This place reminds me of the good ole days..great customer service, reasonable prices, homemade pies and a juke box!!! Couldn't ask for amything more. Biscuits and gravy sre to die for.. You won't leave hungry. I visit at least 2 x a week by myself and sometimes with friends and family. Love it.

Not real clean. Very smoky, cigarettes. Ordered grilled chicken quesadillas was good, but for 7.99 should have some seasoning and bell peppers etc... very plain but cheesy which I like.

There were three of us that went out to eat lunch we ordered the lunch special one of us got a different thing the waitress was very very very nice the price that we paid for our lunch was outrageous for the quality and the portions of food that was ridiculously overpriced the place is so run-down not clean it's so outdated it's somewhere I would not go again I was not pleased with it at all I had never ate there before I had always heard of it and so I tried it lived in Amarillo for 35 years and never went there to eat until then but I will not go back

Friendly downhome place to dine, great experience everytime.... If you like Route 66, it don't get no better than this.
Recomend 5 star rating hands down....

I don't smoke but the smoking by other patrons sure didn't bother me any.... the place is certainly roomy enough for everyone to have sufficient air, not a problem at all.

I really like this place I have been going there since 1964. Have not had a bad meal. The building is kind of rustic but the food is GREAT. The bar is also a nice place for a drink or a night on the town

Cattleman's Cafe serves ordinary diner food 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and, barring pandemic bans or natural disaster, 365 days a year without interruption.

By ordinary I do not mean mediocre, the food us great. Breakfast in particular is top notch. The pricing is eccentric. Too high in some places, cheap as hell in others. I would reccomend the Chicken Fried Steak, Cowboy fbewakfast and
The Bacon Huey Burger. Fried okra as a side is nice , too.

I honestly wish I had come to this place sooner. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is simple. The menu may be simple but it's simple in a good way. Expect to see something along the lines of 'cornbread and eggs, 5.99. It's simple but it's a good simple.

Hamburger steak was very small for the price
