This place is awesome and one of my new favorites in East Nashville. The biscuits are amazing and made from scratch. Just make sure your computer has a full battery if you plan on bringing it. They don't have power outlets!

They always have the most amazing coffee. The scones get sold out super fast š but why is there always just one person working. Be prepared to wait

Pastries/baked goods here are out of this world. Absolutely love this spot for sweets and that kind of thing. Donāt know how it has 4.3 stars. Should be more like 4.7

I have opened cafes and managed restaurants for years and now I am a location scout. I make it a point to try different places regularly.
This was by far the worst experience Iāve had, all around. Service was so terrible and so incredibly slow for simple breakfast food, itās sad. The cold brew clearly wasnāt brewed long enough, food took 45 minutes and was awful, bland and made me feel sick. On top of everything, the place was so dirty that I donāt know if they have ever swept since theyāve opened.
Besides being dirty... the build out simply lacks thought or care. The corner welds are just waiting to stab a childās in the head. There are so many things that could have been done that would have made this place just that much better but again, what they call a ālabor of loveā is not the kind of āloveā Iād ever want to be apart of.
The only thing that makes sense for this place is their name. Slow Hand is literally what you will get here. Just donāt waste your time or money, I beg you.

LOLOL! "Quick bite, fast service." Do not be misled. This place is aptly named: it is bafflingly, inexplicably, painfully SLOOOW.
Be prepared to stand in line for 20+ minutes just to place your order for a pre-made pastry or coffee from a thermos. I cannot fathom how the simple operation of placing a couple cookies in a box and pouring some coffee into a cup can take as long as it takes here.
If you want to order something from the menu, plan on waiting an additional 30 minutes until you can eat it.
These are not exaggerations. They are observations made during the four visits I've made since it opened.
Made-to-order breakfast can be a great thing, but promoting such a place as "quick/fast" is absurd, and making customers wait in a long line just to order (when the majority of the seats are empty) is unacceptable.
With those complaints lodged, the pastries are pastries, the coffee is weak and bland, and the single made-to-order hot breakfast option I had the patience to get once upon a time, was far too salty.
I recommend stopping by Slow Hand only to confirm this review. You will have plenty of time to get to know the folks you are in line with. I will not be one of them.

Tried to go here for lunch. We stood in front of the cash register looking at the food menu for several minutes before our presence was acknowledged by anyone. When someone eventually came to the register and we tried to order food, the cashier looked at us like we were putting her out and told the kitchen was closed. The employee saw us look back over at the menus and just said āsorry, those shouldnāt be upā before removing them. We were completely flabbergasted. What kind of coffee shop stops making food at 2pm? Why do you have menus on display if the kitchen is closed? Why isnāt this information on a website somewhere? Oh wait, this place doesnāt even have a website.
Needless to say, we wonāt be back.

Came in at the end of the day on a Sunday. My baked goods were a bit dry but creative flavors and as a former bakery owner, clearly made with decent ingredients.
I watched the girl closing transfer all the baked goods into one cake stand display struggle and then struggle to wrap it all up with plastic wrap. This means two things: food allergy sufferers beware, and, they resell day(s) old goods.
This is locally owned and operated which is always a plus. The owners are a husband and wife. If I'm in the neighborhood, I might give this a try again on a different day.

Walked in, no one to be seen to order. We stood confused as to what to do until a table cleared up. Of course, because no one could be found the table was dirty. 10-15 min passed and we were not able to order coffee or breakfast. The only person we ever saw was a guy cleaning.
Updating to clear some doubts. When we walked in, there was no one at the register. While we waited we sat down, but no one ever came out. We even saw two other couples come in, wait, and leave. And no, we were not in the restaurant next door.

I own my own business so I always try to support other small businesses as well and this place has really amazing baked goods but I have made my last visit there and will not return, Iāve never left a negative review before on a individually owned small business but on numerous occasions Iāve driven 10 miles from where I live to purchase items and they will be closed Iāve looked at the hours on the door but they have not always been accurate and the times they have been open they are out of everything I need ( mostly cookies ) Iāve questioned it and was told they bake only a few and run out most every day before they close. Iāve witnessed 4 times when Iāve been in that others have walked out the door when I have with nothing in hand after driving over there. Today I called and ask what time will you close today the gentleman who works there said 1:00 I told him I was on my way and would be there about 10 til , ask him what was left and available he was super nice told me what he had.... I get there at 10 til 1:00 he boxes me up $32.00 worth of cookies (of course out of the cream cheese cookies again) as usual and handed him the money he says we donāt take cash....what? Itās closing time Iām buying most all of what he has left in cookies and they couldnāt take my payment so I left for my last time after rushing over to get theses things. You the owner just lost a nice sale. Earlier on the phone I ask again as I had in the past if I could preorder he said yes so he took my name and number but I have no expectations of ever hearing from the owner because Iāve left two voicemails in the past to order and never heard back. I dont have to spend my money there but I choose to because of the quality product but itās now just not worth the hassle & disappointment. In conclusion to this I want to add that I have 3 friends and 4 clients Iāve sent there who all have the same complaint. I wish you well with your business and I hope you find this helpful going forward.
