The staff was very friendly and the food was great. Just what I was looking for that morning. I wanted a locals experience and found it here.

It was awesome. We both had the fried fish. Generous pieces of fish were great. My first thought was the sides seemed a little small but not so by the time I finished my dinner.

The waitress brought our drinks without straws and then we waited thirty (30) minutes for her to come back to take our order. Very dissatisfied. Especially considering she proceeded to take care of customers around us, who arrived after us, and it took my friend going up to the checkout to finally get us service.

Great experience. Our waitress was absolutely amazing and the food was delicious 😋 If you haven't tried this wonderful little place please go. You will not be disappointed

Neat old cafe that's been there since 1900. Guess we arrived in between breakfast and lunch. We wanted breakfast and it was good. Service was timely.

A staple here since 1900, Murfreesboro's oldest restaurant City Cafe is a good place to relax, shoot the breeze with family/friends and have a good meal. I hope this place never shuts down. My favorite 2 dishes to eat are the country ham plate and pork tenderloin plate. They have always had friendly staff. The place is clean and atmosphere has a homey element to it.

First of all my apology for writing a mediocre review on this restaurant due to fatigue and confusion with names. We have been on the road Way too Long! Now the review that the City Cafe deserves.
City Cafe in Murfreesboro served us a fine breakfast! The grits and the biscuits and gravy were hot and tasty. My wife was equally pleased with her eggs over easy and rye toast.
The service was splendid and the price was right. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent place to eat. Great food, large portions for the price. Mainly southern cooking type food. And the the desserts are out of this world. Unless you are really hungry, plan to share a dessert or at least be prepared to take some home for the next day.

Classic dowtown diner exactly the way I like them! Just off the square near the courthouse, this place is comfortable and welcoming and comes with a long history of service (printed on the menu). Simple traditional breakfast & lunch dishes are what you'll find here, and my "go to" bacon, eggs & toast did not disappoint! Fairly priced & well prepared food in a casual setting that's a convenient in & out. Great place!
