Love this dog friendly coffee spot on broad. They also have a very well curated shop connected to it. I found a beautiful, handmade ring by From the Reliquary and I’m obsessed.

Great little place. Dog friendly patio outside, and a bright, modern interior. Cool rotating selection of single origin pour overs, and a chocolate chip cookie topped with sea salt that makes this place worth the trip even if you weren't a coffee person.

The only third wave coffee shop in Memphis, and it’s a good one. Serves Intelligentsia, alongside a rotating roster of coffee from micro-roasters like Heart and George Howell. Really nice owner.

City & State doesn't have the pretension of having the best coffee in Memphis. They don't have to advertise it with an ostentatious attitude like some coffee shops do - they just make damn good coffee, and it may very well be the best in Memphis. Plus, they're nice. Go here.

The people that work here are absolutely terrible!! I had the worst experience with their barista. I am from out of state, and so I heard this place had “good” coffee. I went there the first time before Christmas same experience they were very rude I thought maybe it was a fluke day everyone’s entitled to one bad day, I came in today for the second time to try something different - same barista same experience!!!! This establishment has the worst people working there I would not recommend.

Come here if you want a nice cup of coffe in a fun part of town. Cute, unique gift shop. Do NOT come here if you are looking for a place to do work on your computer. Since it opened, I have been a number of times and the internet NEVER works. It will connect, but then your can’t load the internet. When you ask the staff about it, there’s kind of a “sorry, so long as it keeps swiping the cards, we dont care” vibe. Very frustrating after you spend $5 on a cup of coffee, sit down ready to get your work done for the day, only to have to get up and leave.

This place has some really good coffee. Love the atmosphere. They’ll take cash, but they really prefer cards so keep that in mind.

Great coffee, pastires, and atmosphere!! Love the unique seasonal flavors like maple sage, butterscotch

Service is good, and the coffee is great. The menu is seasonal, but the seasonal drinks are well thought out and usually delicious. Do not be afraid to ask questions if you're unsure about what to order. Food is limited to a few pastries from Porcellino's (delicious), some oatmeal options, and if you're lucky you'll run into a food truck on their patio. This place is really photogenic and great for making your life look more interesting on Snapchat.
Intelligentsia is served here on the regular, but the featured roaster changes sometimes and has not disappointed yet. Heart Coffee Roasters, Parlor Coffee are big names in craft coffee and are the two most recently featured.
La Marzocco Strada for you gear nerds.
The price might be tough to swallow considering the market for craft coffee in Memphis is in its infancy, but it is a fair price. Get there before 10AM on a weekday and get batch brewed coffee for $2.75 (an intelligentsia blend, I believe). Considering the resources necessary to get that coffee from bean to cup, coffee should be much more expensive in general.

Very yummy coffee! The girls who work there were all very sweet and polite and gave my boyfriend and I awesome recommendations. Will be coming back for sure! 😊❤
