This was a super nice spot. The house moca was very good (and sweet). The muffins were ok.

Visited The Golden Roast to do some work instead of being stuck at home and loved it! There’s a good amount of indoor/outdoor seating and it’s a great place to study, do work, hangout, etc! Overall a great vibe and would highly recommend visiting. Only thing I had an issue with was the wifi was a little slow but still got the job done!

The atmosphere in the cafe is more chill and laid back. Would not say it’s really for studying or doing work unless you have noise cancelling headphones. Not much seating and feels a bit cramped. I got the kookaberry coffee and lemon blueberry muffin. The drink tasted like the raspberry chocolates you get in Valentine’s Day chocolate boxes but not my choice of drink. It’s light and has oat milk which may explain the white bits in the drink. The muffin was mediocre. The crust and crumble were alright but the inside of the muffin was quite mushy and tasteless. The muffin had only the slightest hint of lemon, almost undetectable. The blueberries were a tad goopy in the muffin. The price for both came out to be about $11. The water, napkins, and sugar are no longer out on the counter.

The coffee and chia latte were very good and the shop was super cute and very clean. It was chilly out and there was a fire pit going out front

Without a doubt the best coffee in Knoxville. Experts at roasting and the truly discerning coffee aficionados will for sure want to check it out.
The setting is great as well. It’s in an old church basement and has charm to spare!
The not so great part is that the music is almost always too loud and either emo or indie. I almost never go here any more because it’s next to impossible to focus on what you’re doing. I’ll still grab a brew and find somewhere more peaceful and relaxing to chill. Probably best for college students, but not so much for professionals looking for a place to work.
*Other awesome thing about here is that they support lots of local makers and sell a small assortment of items. They also have an awesome makers market a couple of times a year and definitely recommend checking that out!

The baristas here are always very friendly. I highly recommend the chocolate cold brew if you like chocolate. It’s a subtle chocolate, not sweet and is soo delicious.
