The Village Cafe

Pretty good place for a coffee and a bite to eat. Prices are average, ~$10 for a large sandwich (I got DOUBLE bacon, picture is with DOUBLE bacon). Coffee is better than average and about the price of Starbucks. Plenty of seating and has a shaded patio as well.

3rd Trip: The food and price value is still absolutely the best. You will not be disappointed in the serving sizes or the drink prices. The catfish is still awesome, but the chicken philly seemed a lot smaller this visit.The only negative was the 50 minute wait for food (2 people), but the Village Cafe is still
highly recommended!

I only give this 2 stars because there is one young woman who is very pleasant each time I come in. She always describes the menu and lets me know the specials!! However, there is an older lady that works there, who I've constantly had bad experiences with, as well as another friend. My last encounter with her has left a bad taste in my mouth. When I started to order my coffee, the older lady immediately turned around and poured whole milk in my cup. She didn't wait for me to tell her the flavor or if I even wanted the drink hot!!!!! It was demeaning and DISRESPECTFUL, to say the least. I took the drink, walked away, and threw it in the trash. I would prefer to lose $10 than deal with her ever again. Customer service can make or break a restaurant. This lady has broken it for me!!! I will not recommend this establishment again.

I went in for the first time and we were approached with a bad attitude from the start. Three of the workers were laughing at us while we were about to order, acting as if we were a nuisance, yet we just walked in. We were trying to say our order but the girl was not looking at us or listening, so I decided to just leave. I have never left a bad review before or left a restaurant from being treated like this before. Do better.

The food is good but the service is slow and needs better management. I had to wait 30 minutes for 2 to-go coffees. Do not come here for anything to-go unless you're calling ahead

It was just so so, we thought. Wife had the chicken salad sandwich, not sure what spices were used, but had a strange taste and texture. The Cuban was really tasty with plenty of filling. Other reviews were right, it is very slow and expensive. The young girls that delivered the food were super friendly but the older women at the counter had a scowl on her face the hole time, not friendly at all.

This will be my last time eating at the Village Cafe. Was at the cafe at 1:30p on 4/29. Took over 30 minutes to get two sandwiches. The cafe was virtually empty. Six cafe workers (three in front; three working kitchen). The three working the kitchen were on a very long smoking break,.. I checked to see why my food had not shown up after 25 minutes and was told they lost my ticket??? There was only one couple in front of us when we ordered. No remorse, no apology, no refund,.. does any one at this place actually care about their job or showing up to do basic work?! A shame,.. I've been going their for the last few years,.. this experience was frustrating enough that I'll never go back.

Side note: As I was standing at the counter complaining,.. I saw one of the kitchen workers drop a utensil on the floor and then picked it up and put it back on the table where they prepare the food,.. again, this place has gone down hill significantly if this is the quality of workers they now employ.

Had an early morning appointment nearby. Afterwards I stopped in to get a BLT to go. They told me that was a lunch sandwich and they were in breakfast mode...so no can do. One would think toast and bacon would not be difficult to put together at breakfast time, but I guess not. Won't be back

So so good. What a nice surprise off the beaten path. The tomato bisque was great but the highlight was the Salmon BLT. High quality, clean ingredients. Super cute place if you're ever lucky enough to visit Aiken

I had the Club sandwich. Delicious. My wife had the Sammy Turkey. Thankfully she let me try it so I can say its also delicious. I think its the bread (or the cheese) that makes it taste so good. There are many other items I'd like to try so I will certainly be back soon.
