Irving's is a place you can get an amazing breakfast sandwich, and bagels. At least those are my go-to foods, and are my go-to foods for aforementioned reason. I get that there is pandemic/quarantine burnout, but it was uncomfortable to watch customers move around the registers plexiglass and pull masks down to talk to whoever was taking orders. Nor did it help that (who I assume were managers/supervisors) openly talk about how "over it" they are, and boast about not following basic CDC policies. That is the last thing any customer wants to hear while grabbing take out. Still, great food, great people, just some cringey moments.

Stopped in for lunch on gameday. My sandwich was tasty but quite expensive for what I got. Side options are pretty limited and not included with sandwiches. Options looked better for breakfast and coffee than lunch. Ambience is pretty lacking too, although there were plenty of tables.

One of the best breakfast places in state college. Great smoothies & bagels made the right way. Also have good coffee, lunch options, scones & lots of space to eat or do work with the free WiFi

The quality of the food has seriously declined since I started coming here, especially the bagels, which are stale by the afternoon. I got a chicken pesto last week, and the chicken was dry and lukewarm. The outside was chewy and impossible to bite off. Not many sides except for a pickle and soggy potatoes.

Decent veggie breakfast wrap and good tea selection. Veggies were a bit soggy (couldn't tell if this was from oil or what). Wanted it no onions but they said they couldn't because veggies were mixed together....so I guess they're not made fresh fresh? Got a few bagels to go which were a good choice.

Amazing food I make sure have it every morning when I come to my quarterly meeting in Penn state ❤️❤️

A great warm and inviting, and spacious, bagel shop situated in the heart of College Avenue. Perfect for a quick and delicious breakfast bagel or wrap, rightly priced. Plenty of seating to boot, even on a football Saturday morning. I'll be back.

Irving's is my go to spot for great bagels. They've been serving the best bagels in town since before we moved in here in 1989. Besides their coffee, which is delicious, I generally don't buy anything else because it is expensive--but considering the outrageous rent business owners have to pay, it's not surprising.

This place is usually good. I often have breakfast and lunch here. However, this noon, I had the worst Grilled Chicken Pesto. The chicken was old and overcooked. I felt like I was chewing rubber. It must be some leftover from yesterday. And I am not in a good mood. So I am writing a negative review now.

Tasty and unlimited coffee. The breakfast sandwiches are the best in town. The lunch sandwiches are also likely the best in town. Plenty of wifi/outlets/comfy chairs to pound coffee and read or get work done. Can get pretty crowded on football weekends and midday, though. Might take an hour to get your order.
