as a college student, we need places to hang out sometimes. this place would definitely be it. with staff with college students just like us, the people are kind and the beverages and pastries are delicious. the mint hot chocolate i would definitely recommend. they also have a birthday cake they have sometimes that are really amazingly baked, as with the cinnamon rolls, it is a huge sized cinnamon roll so you're getting the approx. of 3 cinnamon rolls in one huge cinnamon roll for an affordable price that you can share with a group of people!

Great Espresso!
I went here on my way up to Canada and it was a well deserved stop. Early morning crowd (relatively empty), quick service, and some of the best espresso I've had.
The locally roasted beans offered some sweet fun flavors in the espresso. I usually never ask where the beans come from but these were so good.
If you have a chance to stop by, I definitely recommend. There's parking out front (on the street) and a beautiful park across the street with plenty of murals and statues.
Staff was friendly and willing to answer questions as well! As an added benefit, you can also buy the art off the walls for relatively low prices. Highly considered it!

What is there to say other than this is a great little coffee shop!?! The staff is wonderful and cheery even on cold and dreary days. They are above and beyond in regard to their friendliness (and their ability to make delicious drinks!) and we look forward to visiting again the next time we are in town!

First stop back in Scranton. Did not disappoint. What go to a chain when you can get good coffee and food served by a great staff. Shop local!

Great spot in Scranton for some coffee. Their lattes are pretty good and the staff is friendly.
I wouldn't come to Scranton specifically for it, but I'd stop in if I was here.
Atmosphere is pretty solid, and I would grab a coffee and do work there, but it is a little cramped. The upstairs section is a great thought and would be nice for working since it's a bit out of the way.
Definitely worth stopping in if you're in Scranton!

Such a cute place! They have great coffee and light snacks/food. Even a few vegan options!

Northern Lights was a perfect stop during a trip to Scranton to check out the Steamtown National Historic Site. They've got an array of prepared lunch options and about five tables out in front of their handsome storefront, which was just what we were looking for. We got a couple of very good turkey hummus wraps and a quiche, and it was super relaxing to sit on their table outside across from the beautiful leafy plaza hosting the Lackawanna County courthouse across the street. Oh and their coffee was great, too. If I'm in Scranton again in the future, I'm definitely stopping in.

I come here very frequently and the staff remembers my order. Most of them are very kind and contentious but I understand what other reviewers have said about certain staff carrying on conversations, looking at their phones, or seeming bothered by your business. Love the coffee though. Cool ambiance.

Bagel was pretty bland. Toast your own bagel and spread your own cream cheese. Eh….
