Always wanted to stop by ...so I did. First, the coffee was perfect, that good! And while the food was indeed tasty it was kinda Disappointing. I got the BLTA, I paid and the hosted asked for a tip so I gave 20% right off. Then, I had to wait 20 min for a sandwich that should not take that long, it was not enough to share with two people and they forgot the chip prob should of checked before leaving. But the lady, lacked sweetness. Cute place ! Maybe off day but no one likes waiting, overpaying and still something missing.

Coffee was delicious. I was surprised and excited that they have full bar too. Lots of yummy baked goods. Lots of gluten free options. Outdoor seating and fire pits for fall. Open until 9:00pm. My heart is so happy to go back soon.

This is one of my all time favorite places to go for a great coffee and wonderful atmosphere. Symposium is not only an adorable little shop it's built into a house right in the heart of Old-Town Sherwood. Whether you are looking for a small bite pastry or a nice warm cup of coffee, this is a wonderful spot to stop. There is a front patio, downstairs and upstairs space for you to lay your things out on the tables. The employees are also all just great people and very customer service oriented. Anytime I have family in town this is the number one spot I make sure is included in their trip.

Baristo was friendly and informative, atmosphere was nice. However, I ordered a cappuccino to go, and after I left I found (to my disappointment) that what I was given was definitively NOT a cappuccino. It had less foam than I've seen on lattes. As I had asked for a dry cappuccino, I can't give more than two stars because at the very least when going to an artisan coffee shop, I expect the drink that I ask for. As an out of towner, this is my only experience with a place that was well recommended, and based on that single experience I can't recommend it to anyone else. Asked for a cappuccino, got a tiny plain latte.

Heads up people!! Poor customer service.
There's an aggressive man that works here who will snap at you as you try to explain your order.
I'm SO dissapointed to hear about the young gentleman behind the counter who screamed at my friend's mother on 10.21.21
She came in with her partner. They ordered an americano and a cappuccino. The woman who took their order was lovely. Very polite.
The gentleman that handed her the drink gave her the wrong order. As she tried to explain multiple times, he kept raising his voice at her telling her she was wrong.
She decided to finally walk out. I am horrified by her experience and wanted to notify others.

Great coffee shop selling Latin American coffees as well as others. Some if not all of the pastries are baked on site. I tried the walnut bread, and it was delicious. The upstairs is quieter and the seating area has windows with screens on them so that you can open them up and allow for fresh air to breeze through the cafe during the warmer months. Be careful with the on-street parking though, because if you are not careful the you can get a parking ticket.

Symposium is fantastic. The coffee is great. The sieve is cozy. Most importantly, the people are exceptional.

Great espresso and ambiance. One of the few places I can relax for long periods of time. The service is good. Good place for specialty coffee South of Portland. I rate Symposium 4.5 out of 5.
Parking has never been a problem. Not only are the staff friendly but I also feel that the customers are too.

My husband and I went for the first time yesterday. He had a decaf Americano with Marion Berry pie. I had a cardamom latte with apple pie. Everything was delicious and we really enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a warm breeze blowing. The owner came out and talked to us for a little bit and he was very friendly. This is a really nice place to hang out in downtown Sherwood.
