Great local spot, very welcoming. Stopped in for a light breakfast and coffee. Had the seasonal frittata with drip coffee which both were delicious. My fiance had the egg sandwich and chai latte. He said the latte was the perfect mix of spice and subtlety sweet but not too much.

This is a perfectly acceptable hang out, small eats and coffee joint.
Oddly the front door doesn't always appear as the main entrance and I have seen many folks struggle to find it. A little entrance signage would go a long way.
The environment is urban rustic, open air and light. It's a great space. Sit/Stand surfaces abound. No large group seating. Bathrooms down the hall for the entire building. It's a pretty efficient little space. You can't help but notice how much room is allocated to the behind the main counter area in the back. I will just accept that the reasons are unknown to us patrons but it seems like a lot of space that could be more seating.
I am not a coffee drinker so my reviews stem from the customer service, the space, the food and the tea.
The customer service is lovely and helpful. Small tea selection but ok tea. The food options are unique and yummalicious. For all of these they earn a solid 3 star. Which as a reminder to anyone new to my reviews is used exactly as it is intended, an A-OK establishment.
Will continue to visit here and they could certainly earn another star if they continue forward with consistency and some good moments/meals/drinks.

This is one of my new favorite Portland Roasters. It is one of the very few roasters that I have been to in Portland that they actually take care to make sure their drip coffee is properly prepared and a good end product of all of the hard work put into craft roasting, instead of burning potentially good coffee.

Chocolate taste mild latte. This place was an oasis in crazy hot whether outside.

Beyond the great coffee (my go-to for home-brewing as a Portlander), the staff is awesome. Even though we only spent six bucks to share a pour over, the barista took time to chat with us about the brewing method and other techniques.

My wife and I have always been pretty loyal Stumptown fans but had heard a lot about Water Ave. Coffee. We decided to drop by and check out what all the hype was about. They definitely lived up to that hype! The service was exceptional! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Coffee itself was pretty danged good. Although I must say I'm still partial to Stumptown. I only tried Water Ave.'s El Torro blend. We will be back many times in the near future. Have yet to try the food but I'm sure its of the same grade A standard they hold for their coffee. I've been told the food very good so that is the score I'll give it.

Lovely little coffee house with nice goodies for smacking. Tea was good which is not always the case. A lot of people work here as it was almost full with laptops. Construction outside made getting inside hazardous given the driving of people. But that is temporary while the sidewalk is replaced.

Great coffee and kind people.
You Must stop by this cafe.

Am in here a couple times a week and this is easily my favorite coffee in SE. Their standard coffee and espresso offerings are top notch and they rotate in seasonal drinks to keep life interesting. Try the aguapanela, it's fantastic! Their merch and take home coffee is also quality. All around excellent place to hang or grab something to go.

Coffee is top notch. Many choices. Also a good selection of baked goods, including vegan and gluten free. Perfect place to go after a waterfront run. On a weekend late morning, this place is hopping with spandex.
