Kainos Coffee

Yup, pretty much the best, most unpretentious coffee shop in this area. The patrons who visit here seem very friendly with one another. The baristas/management really connecting with them as well. Bright cozy spot with delicious/attractive food and coffee drinks.

Very good quality coffee. Got a vanilla iced mocha with light ice and the flavor and color and texture surprised me. It was a dark color and you could taste the Vanilla, the chocolate AND the coffee. Sharp coffee taste and I loved it.

2 super friendly guys. Their coffee is fire roasted, that's so awesome! I had an espresso and a latte, the espresso had citrus notes and a chocolate overtone and was not bitter at all. The latte was smooth and creamy and tasted great.

I had the best latte in my life here! I am not joking and I'm a barista by my own trade.

My partner and I were stopping off for a much needed caffeine charge before driving home to Seattle. We just decided to stop at the first coffee shop we found and boy did we hit the jackpot!

The baristas were both so friendly. The bulk coffee proceeds help different groups out so it's a cafe that cares about its community, and the coffee was worth dying over.
Both the boyfriend and myself were blown away!
I cannot give a higher recommendation. If I am ever back in Portland I know where I will be spending a ton of my time and money.

I worked in coffee for over 6 years and am pretty picky about my morning brew. Kainos is a great little coffee house and excellent roastery with an amazing business model. I always feel good supporting them!

Love this great neighborhood spot for coffee, friendly faces and a great spot to enjoy the day. When good weather shows its face, a small patio gives you a vantage place to watch the world race by.

A FAMOUSLY FABULOUS cup of coffee can be found here! However, they could use one more cup size larger for those of us that enjoy thier coffee so much... I was kinda licking the the bottom and sides of my cup for an extra drop! 😁

Ohhhhhh and an alternative sweetener to sugar would be nice, although I did really enjoy the coffee black... it was genuinely great.

Always busy when we come, but the coffee is so great I don't care that much! There are a lot of great coffee spots around Portland and this is a great stop for a tasty pastry and iced coffee.

Portland is overflowing with superbly trained baristas and roasters. Kainos made the best macchiato and espresso I have had anywhere in Oregon. The level is sky high. If you're serious about coffee, I think you'll be impressed by this place.

Love this place, the coffee is great and the employees are always a pleasure, I go there weekly for the special flavors and the cold brew is always my sold go to, the poptarts and pastries are always so tasty toooo
