They're kinda cool/unique in the sense that they're super low tech - no cashier, no ipads with square machines, just a simple clipboard and calculator.
(Perhaps this has changed? I hope it hasn't haha)
Their 'for here' coffees were served in Mason Jars.
Their coffee + latte wasn't too shabby either. It's not the best I've had but it still meets Portland standards (which is very very high).
Not a huge fan of the space (it seemed a bit messy/unorganized) but I suppose it matches the vibe.

The coffee is so good. I've just dropped by Portland and this coffee shop had one of the best reviews in town. It did really live up to its reviews. The house mocha is good. Different taste. 🤙

Great coffee! Always fresh.

Tried a few coffee places around and this one was the best. Quite, cozy and pleasant service.
What might be improve is to separate of the 'backroom' as occasional dish movements make sharp noise. But that doesn't remove much from general vibe.

Coffee was made using a washable our over metal filter - coffee was very muddy and lost flavor. Solid film of ground coffee on the bottom of cup. Killed about 5 files at my table.
Pastries were 7/10
Stumptown quality beans(+), Starbucks performance(-).

My friend introduced me to this place and I was impressed! I had a scramble with potatoes and it was so flavorful and delicious! The service was amazing! I cannot say anything bad about my experiene. I see now why it is a local favorite and was fetured on one of the Food Networks shows.

Cozy little coffee shop at 9th and Oak. Pour-overs are their specialty, and there are a handful of blends from which to choose. They also do espresso drinks (latte, capuccino, mocha). The beans are ground to order for each cup and it is well worth the wait. They even do a really good decaf blend. A few pastries are made onsite in the morning, but the coffee is really the star here. Service is friendly and knowledgeable.

Great little shop! I'd travel out of my way to get the mocha and cold brew here. Always have interesting music playing on their record player. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Small little coffee joint but it packs a punch. Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. Coffee was on point. Many different coffee choices in the city but this one really stands out to me. Feels cozy and intimate.

Its clear from the haphazard, just-organized-enough look of the cafe look of the place that they have enough time to focus on the coffee. All coffees are prepared to order with the pour over method, and the staff really know their beans and roasts. Come prepared to enjoy the coffee, not your laptop. There are no outlets in sight.
