Ground Espresso Bar & Cafe

Awesome espresso and pastries. Best breakfast sandwich in town. 4 tasty beers on tap (we sampled two). Space is mid-century, eclectic without being disjointed, fairly minimal yet inviting, comfortable, relaxed, and tastefully whimsical. Staff was friendly, genuine and cute to boot. I'd almost relocate to Hood River for a gem like this!

My wife and I favor Ground Expresso whenever we are in Hood River. The inside atmosphere is relaxing plus outside seating is available. The drinks and food are grade A. If there is a negative the food preparation is a little slow but not excessive. What the heck, enjoy your drink while waiting.

My favorite coffee shop in Hood River. A nice homey feel with comfortable furniture good coffee and good pastries and food. The music was a little loud for my wife but it was okay for me so probably OK for most.

Great coffee shop, wide variety of pastries and hot food with good non-burnt (i.e. non-starbucks style) coffee. Friendly staff.. be back next time I go through Hood River.

Good coffee. Wish the cashier would practice counting change back to the customer.
Visited again, coffee still good; peanut butter cookie was good. Different staff this time and still inexperienced : with only two customers ordering coffees, the barista never made my order -- had to remind them to make it. Also the cashier served the customer who came up behind me first -- weird. Still, it is nice atmosphere to sit and read. Sunday NYTimes paper was free for reading.

Whenever we are in the Hood River area, Ground Espresso is a must visit for the best coffee in the area.

I mean it's Downtown Hood River, so comparing this coffee shop amongst the others is pretty hard because the other coffee shops are amazing. Grounds is mediocre. Their coffee is good bit their food is below average. The Monivee is their best breakfast sandwich but if you add bacon, 9 times out of 10, the bacon is burnt. Otherwise, the place is chill and there is free WiFi.

Very impressed. The staff was friendly, the drinks tasty, and the breakfast sandwich great. I had the monivee, which I thought was perfect.

The food is definitely what makes the place stand out from other coffee shops.

Was one of my favorite spots but the new baristas need to be trained. The last couple times I bought a laté there I had to dump it out. However, Denny (man with the beautiful moustache) makes a damn good cup of coffee and I love his latés

My friend and I each got a cold brew with soy milk and our drinks were delicious! The staff was super nice and even thanked us for bringing our own reusable straws.
