The Dunes Cafe

I go here fairly regularly but yesterday was just not good when we ate there.. I ordered the pigpen omelet which has all three breakfast meats in it and cheese I also added mushrooms and tomato. The omelette was over stuffed with ham and hardly any sausage and bacon was in half strips and only about 2-3 in the whole omelette. Secondly the mushrooms I got in my omelette were sliced about 1/2 inch thick and not ever Sautéed at all completely raw.. my brother in law got the prime rib and he got a cut that was about 1.5lbs which was good but was over cooked and completely dry. I’m really disappointed as this used to be the best breakfast in Florence... guess I’ll start looking elsewhere next time... 😞😞

The food is good, the service is friendly and portions are generous. It's busy as hell for a reason. My lower rating is due to hygiene. I have been there 5 times and every time I've been grossed out by things like the cook with a cold wiping his nose with his hand and sneezing while cooking, waitress placing the table rag on clean coffee cups, the floors looked like a toddler gang had a food-fight etc. But, if you are not a germophobe it's good food.

Great food! Friendly service too. We will return to sample more of their excellent cooking!

Great menu selection, fair prices, service was great. Has a small town atmosphere which I like. The food was great, visited twice on our short trip. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great breakfast.

Passing through stopped for gas who recommended Dunes cafe we went in as still open we weren't greated i felt as i were intruding was told rudely (still no hello) no greave and another item i said asked if they had coffee waitress pointed said that's all the coffee i have in that pot again told me no greavy.... I said i didn't ask for greavy but breakfast. When my friend was returning from restroom i exp how rude they are. If the workers would have explained when we arrived they were preparing to close in 15 minutes instead of being rude and trying to at 1st ignore us we would have understood and left as we were misinformed they close at 4pm not 2 PM. We did order breakfast and it was very good had 1 cup of small coffee (not offered refill) at $2.50 cup. To bad the 2 waitresses haven't learned how to communicate with Paying Customers as we travel alot and recommended ( OR NOT) to others good places to stop and eat.

Great little local cafe. Food is good and it has a friendly atmosphere. Service is timely. Prices are good. Open early morning to early afternoon with all menu items available to order all day. A Great little meeting place for the retired crowd or small group to chat and drink a cup of joe. There is a small bar which is perfect for sitting down and reading the newspaper. There isnt anything super spectacular about it yet us locals love having it as part of our community.

They seemed to be out of everything. No biscuits, no waffles, no clam strips. We ended up with cod and fries. The breading was so thick and over cooked we couldn't even bite through it.

The service was horrible. No refills. No contact after food was delivered.

NEVER AGAIN!
