Tropical Restaurant & Bar

I visited Tropical Restaurant about 6 years ago and got some take out and no real reason at all I haven't been back. The wife and I decided last minute to go out rather than cook at home after working all day. I looked on Google maps at Asian, Thai, and Japanese restaurants and decided I'd like to revisit Tropical.

We were promptly seated and our waitress came right over with waters and asked if we would like something other than water and showed us their drink menu. After a briefly reviewing their menu I decided on the E2 Panang (a red coconut curry dish) while the wife ordered the E22 Pad Cha but couldn't decide if she wanted beef or chicken and the waitress suggested doing a mix of both beef and chicken.

My dish arrived first while the wife's arrived moments later. Unfortunately, my curry sauce was on the cold side so I informed the server and she took it away and they remade me a new dish and even brought out a fresh bowl of rice. I must add my 2nd dish had to of been expedited because it was delivered back to the table in what felt like minutes.

My Panang was very flavorful and the beef was tender. The wife's dish actually had more content to it, meats and veggies, compared to mine but over I wasn't mad about because my dish was awesome. I did sample from my wife's Pad Cha and it was also great. If I could've had my curry sauce with her meats and veggies it would have been perfect.

Overall, the service was great and the food was equally as good. I look forward to returning in the near future. I didn't get a photo of my meal but I posted my wife's dish

Excellent Thai food! Although it has a bar, it functions mainly a sit down restaurant. Feels comfortable in both casual and formal wear. But the food is delicious and seems authentic. They customize it for your spice level perfectly. Great place, very pleased

In the running for best Thai food in Tulsa is Lanna Thai and the Tropical. Fortunately, they are owned by the same folks so you won't go wrong either way. I prefer the Tropical for two reasons
1. The lettuce wraps - they are vegetarian, and at first I was skeptical but my goodness they are superb. The way the rice crisps up is just the best.
2. The sauce for the pad Thai is a bit sweeter here vs Lanna Thai and that is my preference (picture attached)

Had the Garlic pepper with tofu and the Pad Thai with chicken. Both were very good and full of flavors.

The staff was kind and very polite. Wait time was about normal for lunchtime. Very clean restaurant and comfortable seats. Food was tasty. Serving amount was just right. I would definitely go back. Plenty of parking.

Tropical is a hidden gem on Memorial. The times I've been, it's always been a great meal! Pad Thai is a favorite, but lots of good options on the menu.

This is the problem with restaurants "not taking special requests" on DoorDash. Food delivered, no silverware or chopsticks. I guess that Thai people eat with their hands. Do freaking better Tropical!!¡

Our first time visiting and definitely not our last. We ordered the spring rolls, Pad Thai and Panang. All were excellent! Seeing the short-staffed sign on the door made me a bit nervous, but we had great service.

Had the corn cakes and Tropical fried rice with seafood medley. It was all delicious, enough food for two (or three) meals and just the right amount of spiciness for my mood (2; it's just a hint of spice). My daughter had their famous lettuce wraps. The service was super helpful and friendly. I'll definitely return.

Tasty Thai food. Not being from Tulsa we took a chance on this place and were not disappointed. Im not giving 5 stars as I have only been here once and can't be sure it is worth 5 stars. However, the food was excellent and I would definitely go back again.
