Delightful coffee shop/cafe. Nice area to spend time for oneself. Buckeye coffee tasted excellent and as well the blueberry small cake was freshly made. Small items to buy like coffee machine, honey, stickers accessories etc are available. There is outdoor and indoor seating. Friendly staff. Neat restrooms.

Awesome coffee shop in downtown Westerville! Enjoyed a light roast pour over coffee and a breakfast sandwich on a Sunday. Seems like a really popular spot with lots of guests. Staff very friendly. Loved the spacious seating. They also sell a lot of items for the coffee enthusiast. As a bonus, got to watch the cast of Uptown Scrooge pass through x2. Would recommend this cafe for a cup of Joe.

we have been to Java for the past several years, and I truly feel like I need to write some good things about it this time. Java serves very delicious coffee, tea, and breakfast around the clock. We had multiple items, but latte has always been one of the favorites at this location. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and row. We highly recommend anybody visiting Westerville area to just give a try. Highly Recommend. Don’t believe- just look at these pictures.

Very nice staff ! I ordered a medium roast pour over, excellent flavor. It appeared they had a pretty extensive menu and pastry selection. it doesn't look big from the outside but this is a very large yet cozy coffee shop, plenty of seating if you have a larger group. I felt very relaxed while I sipped my coffee and completed some work I had to finish. I sat in the back area where it also appears they host live acts from time to time. Just a heads up, They prefer you where a mask in until your seated.

Java Central has a lot going for it, but I have to mention the service first. This crew is engaged with customers, having fun, and genuinely care about the customer experience. I ordered the Cinnamon Pecan coffee cake. It was very sweet, moist, and delicious. The barista taking my order proactively offered to warm it, even though they were busy. I had the Congolese drip coffee. The roast was correct and flavorful. The bar has whole bean coffee available and a sizable number of coffee brewing equipment for the size of the coffee house. The table I sat at was wobbly, but every great second wave coffee house I've been to around the country has the same issue. So it didn't detract from the experience. You should know that most of the seating is down the hall in the back, so don't be fooled by the few seats by the bar. If you're in Westerville go here.

This place fits the “neighborhood coffee shop” title perfectly. Such a warm and inviting atmosphere and delicious coffee!
I got the cardamom rose latte and it was just perfect. Not too sweet, not too bitter.

What a great little shop! I've been wanting to try it since seeing it when visiting my brother this summer. It did not disappoint. Met there with friends, I had an oat cardamom latte (super interesting, I liked it) and my friends had the honey latte (reported as not too sweet, but good honey flavor) and a hot cocoa. The house-made chocolate peppermint cake was DIVINE and huge, easily split among us. Also they had all kinds of Pattycake sweets! If I still lived in Columbus, I'd come here often and I'll definitely be back. Cute outdoor seating for whenever things get warm again. Oh and a nice clean bathroom with lots of hooks for coats/bags, doesn't go unappreciated in winter especially! The staff was also very friendly!

We stopped here as we were in the area and went about 30 minutes before closing time. Got the Cardomom rose latte and it was good. Not too sweet or anything. The place is so cozy and beautiful. The menu items are a bit pricey. But that will not stop up from visiting here in the future ! Especially after seeing they have live bands!

Java Central is more than just a good coffee shop. It is an essential part of the local community. You may walk by and see a cute front window and have assumptions about the size but just like a Tardis, Java is bigger on the inside! Literally all the staff are so friendly and will become like family to you if you visit often.

The spaces inside and out are cozy and perfect if you want to have a meeting with someone, sit and work on your laptop, hang out with friends, enjoy nice weather on the brick-walk patio or simply sit and enjoy a meal and a GREAT drink. I travel a lot and never have found a place like this. They roast their own coffee and care about the quality and the farms and people they get their beans from so you’re going to get an actual great tasting cup of coffee that you can feel good about! And it’s tangible how much they care about the community and human rights and making sure everyone feels welcome.

Aside from the good product, safe space, thoughtful atmosphere they create and all the qualities you like to see from a business, Java also supports artists and musicians. You’ll see local art on the walls throughout that rotate to showcase many different artists. It’s all for sale as well as local goodies you’ll find by the registers in the cafe area. Perfect for grabbing a gift or just something for yourself.

And if you come in on a Friday evening, you can enjoy (and ask Ralph to sign up!) the open mic night. If you come by on a Saturday evening, you’ll experience a full intimate show from a local musician or band. I love to come during a music night, buy a drink and a hemp flax cookie and draw on my iPad while listening. It’s my happy place.

My drink of choice: 12oz iced latte with oat milk. I also used to drink (before cutting sugar) an iced latte with honey and lavender. So dreamy.

My husband’s drink of choice is like a traditional 8oz cappuccino with whole milk. Ask for the Marco-ccino 😆

Stopped by to see the music and grab some tea, coffee and a bakery delight.

The music was delightful and the beverages perfect. This is a marvelous space in Uptown, they support local artists and being in some world class musicians.

I can't wait to stop by again.
