River Road Coffee House

Very, very disappointed! About 2-3 times per year or so I will stop and buy a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant as it was delicious. A fresh croissant with a really good chicken salad that was made with chunked chicken, red onions, slivered almonds, and celery. I just went through the drive through on 21st and bought one, but it was awful!!! The croissant was toasted (panini-style), the chicken is ground up like a mash, if there were almonds- I didn't taste any, though there were some very small pieces of celery and onion. The taste was awful!!!! The texture was awful!!! And, 1/4 of my sandwich had NO meat on it! I had to spread out the very small amount that there was (half or less of what you used to get). It was the absolute worst chicken salad sandwich I have ever had in my life. If this is your 'new' sandwich, I will never be back (I do not drink coffee). I am extremely disappointed as I was truly looking forward to a great sandwich, but I got something that tasted like Underwood canned meat (texture especially). Blech!

Great coffee. Especially the amond joy with almond milk. True heaven. Smooth hot coffee. Long lines around the building because its worth the wait. Will be back.

Best coffee house in town. Prices are reasonable. The only reason they didn't get five stars is they need to work on putting out the same consistency everytime.

I like to call the River Road drive thru lines the purgatory lines. Because you’re stuck in it forever. Take today for example. There was a mine, there’s always a line. But it wasn’t as bad as some days. I checked the time. I had 30minutes before I needed to be at John Clem across the street. 30 minutes. Ok I have time to wait in line. I WAS LATE getting to Clem. Again, across the street. 30+mins in a line with 5 cars ahead of me. And there’s no getting out of line. Once you’re in, you’re committed. How is this kind of line deemed ok? I’ve gone inside and I’ve witnessed why it takes so long. The workers are casually walking around and making drinks. While I value a well made drink, you have a line. It’s time to partake in the product you’re making and speed up your service. We pass the shop many times through the week and decide to not get it when we see there’s a line. Imagine all the people who do the same. Purgatory. 30minutes in a line of 5 cars is ridiculous.

Always excellent service with a smile. Recommended to family, friends, and strangers. No food or drink item tasted has failed to please.

The staff is always chipper and full of energy. People are always really kind, I had some nice strangers pay for my drinks ahead of me in the drive through!

My favorite coffee in Newark. Their monthly specials, as well as staples, are always good! Love getting frozen versions of my favorites too!

I TRIED TO ORDER 9 HOT CHOCOLATES. I CALLED AHEAD AND SAID I WOULD BE THERE IN 2 MINS. I GET THERE AND THEIR DOOR IS LOCKED. I CALLED AGAIN TO SEE IF THEY COULD BRING OT OUT TO ME, SHE SAID NO DRIVE THRU ONLY.

I WILL NEVER BE BACK. THIS IS UNCALLED FOR AND THE MANAGER NEEDS TO BE FIRED. TIM HORTON'S GOT MY BUSINESS! VERY SAD...

I frequent this river road location for the great coffee. The service is fine the staff is nice, but there seems to be this negativity around them. Most, not all, but most, that make my coffee seem angry constantly.
