Ghostlight Coffee (Midtown)

There is a specific air of a failing restaurant that is quite pungent. Things like not telling your guest that there will be a 60 minute wait for your meal, orders being completely forgotten, and running out of staple ingredients for your menu. There is no way the kitchen staff are happy in these situations either, giving how hard their life must be if the FOH is always hitting them with orders in the fly because they were forgotten.

And this is the situation I sit in, long after I've drank my mediocre latte waiting for my breakfast. I feel for the frontline staff here, and wonder how the reviews for this location are so positive or what happened that caused today to be so bad. And if it's a "no one wants to work" issue, then the owner has but to compensate staff better so that it's a place people would want to work. Good staff will always go where they will be compensated well.

And no I was just told they're out of another ingredient for my sandwich, after waiting 60 minutes to get it. Maybe it's just time for the owner to close up shop instead of putting their staff through this tragic employment experience.

The coffee is adequate, and there are many flavors for lattes. The syrups seem be Monin brand, which most coffee shops around here use. There is plenty of seating, however there are hardly any outlets, if any.

The staff, however, was very friendly and exceptionally helpful

I love this place. We visited while on family vacation and it was the highlight of all of the restaurants we toured. So many delicious options, and many of them vegan or vegetarian. The coffee was brewed with care and the options were so flavorful. I will come here any time I'm in Dayton. Thank you!!!

We just ate here randomly after moving to Dayton 2 days before. I love that they have alternative milks and I loved my iced lavender oat milk latte. Great service and experience. We will be returning

Love the coffee and the vibe of this place but it can take a little while for coffee when they are busy.

Such a cute place!! I had the Vegan Monty sandwich with a Shanghai Fog and both were phenomenal. The shop definitely has a really chill vibe and would be great to meet with friends or stop for a quiet bite.

Yes ma'am. I was in search of a good coffee shop to make up for the bad experience I had at Pettibone last week. I have driven past Ghostlight many times but never thought to give it the time of day until this morning. Their dark roast was so good. I don't like to put a lot of sugar in my coffee since I plan on eating a pastry with it and the taste was so rich and smooth for a dark roast. So so good. The wild berry pastry was amazing. Definitely glad I finally stopped by and will be back.

Made a delivery here. The staff was friendly. It was very clean but was also very early so I'm not sure they were open yet
