Midtown Cafe and Dessertery

I had met the owners earlier in the day last Saturday, and we had a great time talking. When they told me they owned a restaurant I decided to go check it out!

I got the western omelet with sausage instead of ham, and the pumpkin pancakes. It was a delicious diner style meal and an extremely fair price.

If you want a casual dining experience at a fair price, in an environment that looks very upscale, check this place out! It’s fantastic!

Been here before and I couldn’t wait to go back when I visited Winston Salem again. Sadly the quality just wasn’t the same. The fried green tomatoes were so mushy it fell apart when I tried to grab it with my fork. The fries were soggy and undercooked and my bread was so wet, I couldn’t pick it up to eat my sandwich. I would have loved to order a dessert to go but after 15 minutes waiting for someone to come refill my water, I just wanted to pay my bill and get out.

The food was excellent, our waitress was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the fresh coffee. Breakfast served anytime is always very nicely done. The fries with lunch today were done just right.

This place is lovely! Loved the atmosphere in the cafe. Drew was a wonderful server. Very sweet. The food was amazing! Their home fries are soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside. The pancakes were light and fluffy and they make their own maple syrup. Bought some of their homemade pimento cheese to take home. DELICIOUS!

Wanted a omelet with 1 pancake. That wasn't allowed. Didn't like that. Most restaurants will do 1 pancake. Both tables beside me had there pancakes brought on separate plate. But mine were on the plate with omelet. Got separate plate. Pancakes were warm at best. Set near kitchen and very loud. Not a good experience. Doubt I'll return.

Service was very good! Everyone was very nice to my daughter and friendly.

The desserts were fine, but the beverages left a lot to be desired. We had an espresso and chai latte and both were sub-par. Generally overpriced for what we got.

Really good food.

This is my go to place for dessert. The hummingbird cake took me back to my childhood, taste just like my grandmother's. We went at 1pm to avoid a wait time but still had to wait 10 minutes due to staffing. It was worth it. Our sever was on point and curtiouse

My son lives in Winston Salem and brought me here the first. The is fantastic and I Love how friendly the staff and they made suggestions. I live in New York. This is my favorite new place.

Place don’t deserve not even one star. Treated my family so bad at the entrance, specially my mom in a wheelchair. It’s just a racist place. Employees should know how to talk to customers and not be rude. No one sees my mom less for being in a wheelchair. Hope people see this comment and don’t even show up.
