Great place for some great local food. Laid back, casual atmosphere. For reference I paid well under $20 for a shrimp and flounder platter, and around $15 for a fried oyster platterand it was excellent food. The staff are very nice and engaging. We always enjoy or stops here. Great place for families.

Really good and friendly service. The food is always hot. The salad was extra fresh, and the ranch dressing is house made. Patient, senior friendly, and the manager walks around and greets the customers. You don't get that anymore.

Very nice find. Hush puppies were tasty. Could've used a little more bacon on the BLT but they did have rye bread which was nice. Also got a shrimp Po boy which has a generous amount of shrimp and very good. Service was friendly and good. Recommend!

A great place to eat southern style breakfast

Very good food, friendly service. I know some people who eat here every week and they love it.

I had a really great chicken fried steak breakfast. The coffee was good, prices fair, and the staff was kind. Great drop in, especially if you need breakfast before a flight.

My husband and I were visiting the area from Atlanta, Georgia. The Airbnb we rented for four days did not have breakfast food available, so we chose The Sawmill Cafe.
I am so glad we did! While the meal was a bit slow in getting to the table because the kitchen was busy. The servers made up for it by being so sweet.
If you are in Castle Hayne, North Carolina, go to The Saw Mill Cafe for breakfast! The cheese grits were phenomenal!

Sawmill recently catered our daughter's wedding. They were so easy to work with and the food got rave reviews, especially the brisket. I highly recommend them for your event.

This place was referred to me by someone I have 0 things in common with, except our mutual love for trying out restaurants.
Upon first glance, I wasn’t a fan of the “wait outside to be seated” sign… however, Covid is still out there, and I wouldn’t like a crowd of people standing behind me to be seated while I’m trying to eat comfortably. So I Approve!

As for my dining experience… GREAT FOOD!! I asked for recommendations and the customer service was informative, spot on, and friendly. A valid stereotype about youthful employees is that they’re lazy, rude, and no real customer friendly skills. Not Them! They’re Awesome!

Yes, I recommend this place already to others!

My sis and I drove an hour each to meet here for breakfast. Not only was the food fantastic...but they had good southern favs, like a fried bologna sandwich, biscuits n sausage gravy, and liver puddin. Denise, our waitress, was an absolute doll...friendly and helpful. We chose to walk after breakfast, and she recommended downtown Wilmington. It was perfectly charming with many home gardens, historic houses, and a barage of patios/courtyards. Cannot wait to visit here again!!
