I held an event here for my business and what an amazing experience, staff was so professional and fast. The coffee is amazing and specialty drinks are delicious!

Today was sadly most likely our trip to grinders coffee. My partner and I used to visit this little coffee shop often with glee and excitement. But lately every visit has gotten worse. Today visit I walked in put my phone number in and was happy to see that I had enough loyalty points to get either a free drink or a discount on today's purchase. I go to the counter to place my order. I place my partner drink first iced hazelnut latter jumbo 2% milk. I had to say this several times to get his order read back to me correctly. I ask for London Fog with lavender to which the person taking my order looks at me as if I started speaking a new language and told they couldn't make it. Instead of arguing about this I simply say give me Iced hazelnut latte jumbo with 2% as well. When the person goes to check my order he replies back with One jumbo hazelnut latte with 2%, one fog, and one regular latte with milk. I tell him as nicely as I could NO that's not correct at all. Firstly you told me you couldn't make a London fog, so am not sure what a fog is. Next it should be two jumbo hazelnut lattes with 2% milk. He replies it back correctly with my name correct. As my order is being made I look and see everything that is necessary to make a London Fog. Am more annoyed now because my drink could have been made. My name is called my order is ready or so I thought. The girl behind the registry double checks am Ally checks off the order board and I tell her I should have enough points for either a free drink or a discount she tells me no but will add 8 points to my account. Rings me for Only ONE drink. She then rings me up for my other drink!? I had to pay twice for my drinks because you failed to put my order in correctly that I had to ensure that guy behind the counter taking my order didn't screw up. I taste both lattes before leaving neither of them had hazelnut or enough milk in them. I was too annoyed by this point to say anything to staff I just doctor them up for us and left. Grinders get your act together, at point you were the best little coffee shop in town but because of continuing disappointing visits we have had to go seeking for other coffee shops in the area.

Whenever we travel, we love finding local coffee places. We have been to Wilmington many times; however, this trip was our first time to Grinders. We were not disappointed. The service was great, and the drinks were amazing. They have a fantastic selection of drinks. Hubs got the Hi Felicia each time we went - if you like spicy, this is your drink! So far, I’ve had the Sno-Coconut and Blueberry Pie Latte, both iced with oat milk, and both were amazing! They use coffee ice cubes in some of their drinks too, which is always a nice bonus. My son got the incrediberry smoothie, and he downed it like there was no tomorrow. This has become our return spot for coffee in Wilmington going forward!

On my first visit, they had live music, and the place was lively, busy, and offered many things to look at and fun things to buy. Their drink selection was broad, from smoothies to piping hot coffee drinks in a variety of flavors. I want to go back!

Great little coffee shop! I had a Mexican Mocha latte and it was the best latte I’ve ever had. Staff was so friendly, all around great vibes.

I have an annoyingly detailed chai order & Grinders is one of the only places I trust with it. They knock it out of the park every time, it’s like drinking clouds, so delicious. The vibes are always cozy in the morning too, they keep it quiet & softly lit, which rules.

I love Grinders. I went to their location before hurricane Florence and def after they lost everything and rebuilt in a new location. I did order something that I was unfamiliar with (this is why I don’t step out of my comfort zone LOL) and I did not like what I got, but it was also a healthy option and let’s be real, I’m not a healthy eater/drinker. So I went to order something different and the Barista asked me if something was wrong with my order, I told her no, I just needed UNHEALTHY in my life. She laughed and asked me what I liked, and she talked me into the Elvis. And that’s when I tried the Elvis for the first time. And y’all - it was incredible! So if you’re in the Wilmington area, def go on down to Grinders and have some coffee that’ll change your LIFE! Also, give the owner a hug - she made me feel super comfortable being in her establishment as it’s not always easy for the LGBTQ community to be accepted in places. Thanks grinders for being an awesome and welcoming coffee shop ❤️

I started working at Grinder’s back around 2013. I had no coffee experience whatsoever but Leah took a chance on me. I graduated college and pursued my career. Over the years Grinders customers and baristas a like have been a family. Leah genuinely goes out of her way over and over again for her employees despite having to manage the stress of hiring and maintaining employees in today’s economy. She is one of the most genuine, charismatic open hearted people I know. I don’t buy espresso from anywhere else and love everything about Grinders. This is a Wilmington staple and I stand to support this small business. It represents people owned small business and is committed to always improving.
