Cute little place. We didn't have their coffee but the breakfast burrito was really good. Not going to fine a burger here but you have plenty of healthy choices.

Food was great. Staff definitely having a tough time at the counter getting orders in. Tons of bees outside so we sat inside. Low point was they asked you to bus your own table and even suggested you wipe it down. Did not realize this until after we paid up front and paid a tip as if it were full service. Probably our fault for not realizing it was not full service. Would try again post COVID.

Love this local stop! A must-taste and visit when in Sylva. Delicious food and committed to caring about their customers and their community. I love their crepes the most and their great selection of treats and drinks! Terrific place to pick up a tasty local indulgence or even healthy choice. Friendly and safe through the pandemic! So lucky to have this delightful restaurant in Downtown Sylva. Be sure to grab a pastry and a coffee if you get the chance! Can't wait to visit again soon!

Great food, great coffee, great service, and a wonderful bookstore makes this one of my favorite places ever. A wide menu selection for a small place with tasty twists on standard fare and local products. I've been coming to City Lights whenever I'm in the area for 5 years, and I love it dearly.

This was our first, but will not be our last!!! Great eggs benedict crepes . Just wonderful. Don't miss this place...

I love everything about this cafe! Breakfast and my latte were amazing. Be sure to visit the bookstore to meet Cedric, a very friendly black cat, who will help you pick out your next read!

After grabbing a cup of coffee from city lights a couple weeks ago, the menu peaked our interest because as vegans, our dining out options are extremely limited especially in rural areas like this. Although there are some hidden gems all around but this review is about city lights so onward we go. We went there for lunch this past Saturday, after noticing they had a vegan Panini on the menu and what we received was NOT a Panini. It was a toasted sandwich and ordering it was ridiculously tedious. I read a previous review and someone said they’re ordering system was clunky and that’s definitely a good word to describe it. Also I should make mention that we also selected guacamole, and since we also selected chips and salsa maybe it was proper to assume that we wanted our guacamole on the side not on the sandwich, this is definitely a downfall of ordering and such a impersonal way. Communication is important! Communication is key! Communication is ideal to make sure your customer the one that keeps you in business is getting what they want. I understand the need to keep your staff safe, I really truly get that but I think that you’re over the top, and I should also make mention that if I had seen you call the cops on somebody for a misunderstanding or a slight error in judgment I’d demand a refund for myself too. If it’s that much of a concern, only offer takeout! Don’t offer in room dining if you’re going to make it a bad experience for people who go there and spend their hard earned money.

I've been a big City Lights Cafe fan for years! The food and coffee are great and consistent, the staff are always friendly, and it is reasonably priced especially for the quality you are receiving. I love how they have set up their take out station for these difficult times we are experiencing. It is very convenient and helps you to feel safe that you don't even have to enter the restaurant.

The savory crepe styled after the quesadilla was great. They say on their table tents they care about the quality of the ingredients. The food we were served today demonstrated they upheld that commitment. We strongly recommend that you stop here. We will AGAIN.

One of Western NC's all-time best bookstores with the best cat: Cedric! Extensive new & used selection, especially local/regional titles & authors. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate about books and service with a well-earned, devoted customer base. City Lights Books & Cafe defines food, service and bibliophilia. A regular stop for locals like us, who never leave empty handed.
