The Spot

This was an unexpected treat! My daughter talked me into having the açaí bowl. Not only was the presentation beautiful, the taste was incredible! There are so many interesting flavors meshing together. I highly recommend this place. It was so good, we went twice in the week we were visiting the obx. J-

my mom and brother went in for ice cream this evening, there was a cashier who saw them come in, and didn’t smile or greet them even after they greeted him first. customer service needs some work. the cashier who did that had longer hair and glasses and looked young. oh and he didn’t even ask how many scoops were wanted another employee had to.

The ice cream was good however the customer service was absolutely horrible. An employee locked the door while we were ordering and waiting for our last order, then came out from the back starting screaming at me to put my mask on and stop eating my ice cream that was dripping over the edges. I was only trying to catch what was dripping. The other employees in the back were laughing and cheering her on while she was screaming at me. However, 2 customers before us that she waited on didn’t have a mask on in the store. As well as the customers in front of us starting eating their ice cream in there as well. Meanwhile she’s still yelling at me however making no attempt to unlock the door so we can get out to eat the ice cream that was melting. I had to unlock the door myself. At the point still hadn’t received our last order so still had to wait. Worst customer service by screaming at your customers, which I had my mask on just Lowered so I could grab the ice cream that was falling out of the bowl. That situation could have been handled a lot calmer and nicer for the same end result. She was very rude and disrespectful and the other employees were too by encouraging and congratulating her for yelling at me.

You want a great sweet treat this is your place, standard stuff like sundaes and milkshakes but the real star here are the Acai bowls (the Hammerhead is my personal favorite). They are absolutely great, fresh made(organic too) to order, and they hold up very well in the fridge if you want one for later. The best part is you don't have to do an extra hour of cardio to work off some brownie sundae thing. Some of them are even a great breakfast. A must stop for people visiting the area.

Very cute spot. Loved finding such a health-conscious place while on vacation. If you don't know what you want, the staff is great at giving recommendations.

Not to crazy about the acai bowls...way too much sugar in everything they add to them. Service good and fast but can you make a healthier bowl, please.

Felt the need to update my review to 5 stars because I found myself craving some of these last time I was in OBX.

Original: A little pricey for smoothie bowls and they took a little while to be whipped up, but hey, we ordered 5 at once so I can't complain. Mine came with cocoa nibs, peanut butter, granola and bananas on top and it was beyond delicious. Plus, it's not too bad for you either! I'd definitely come back here. Also, seeing the local art hanging on the walls was cool too, especially as an artist myself.

I really wanted to like this place... Sadly they almost made me very sick. I asked if the granola had gluten in it (I am severely allergic to gluten) and they said yes. So I asked for a custom acai bowl without granola. They gave me what I assumed was the right bowl so I took a big bite, and underneath all the toppings there was granola! I had to spit it out in the parking lot. Thankfully I didn't have a reaction. When I went back to ask for another bowl, the cashier apologized and wrote down all the ingredients that I wanted in the replacement bowl. When they gave me my order, it was a completely different bowl, but it didn't have granola so I took it. I was seriously disappointed to wait in line for a $8+ acai bowl only to almost have an allergic reaction and then to get a completely different order. I don't normally leave low reviews but I was highly dissatisfied.

Awesome ice cream... best I've had anywhere so far... derr recommend the peanut butter cup and capp crunch
