My boyfriend and I were staying at an AirBnb walking distance from Food Matters. We decided to go here for a quick bite for breakfast. Unfortunately the cafe didn’t open until 10 but we still found delicious food. This is a small and unique health food store with lots of organic options. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely come here again next time I’m in town. My only suggestion would be to touch up the outside, it looked somewhat rundown and dirty which doesn’t really help to portray the message of clean and healthy.

Shopped for groceries. They appear to carry quality items, especially their butcher and seafood. For other items, their selection is eclectic but limited. All items are full priced.

The grocery store is a little high end for the area, but they have a nice selection in each area. The store is clean, workers are friendly, and it is a good location right at the edge of downtown. I would suggest it for friends that live in the area.

Its a great little store. It reminds me of a mini Whole Foods. The people are nice, and this store might have the one thing you can't find unless you travel to Asheville or Hickory. The prices are a bit high, -1 star, but i get it too, they are filling a niche, and they need to pay the bills too.

Bulk grains. Made-to-order food and smoothies. Tables and WiFi. Clean! Lots of Kombucha variety. This is my new favorite place to shop! Everything was beautiful and the staff were all sweet and welcoming. So happy to find this gem tucked into a friendly neighborhood downtown!

My husband and I look forward to shopping here once a month. We drive from Shelby. It is a clean, we'll run organic grocery. It is just the right size, and the staff are very responsive if asked about products. I love the Sami's sourdough bread, and if I call a couple of weeks in advance, they make sure they have several loaves for me!

Food Matters is a terrific natural products store and has a great selection and generally low prices. Perhaps the best thing is the level of personal, friendly service. For example, they’re happy to special order what they don’t stock in the store.

Best place to buy meat!!! No more Walmart, Food Lion, Ingles & etc. !!!With all these food recalls happening, learning the REAL secrets of grocery store meat & just the overall decline of quality in grocery store meat, we only purchase our meat here. We buy our hamburger, sausages, chicken, steak & seafood here and when I tell you there is a difference... THERE IS A DIFFERENCE! Not only are we supporting local businesses, but the beef, chicken & pork's FRESH quality & taste are SUPERB! We LOVE Highland farms now because of Food Matters! If you haven't tried the wild caught Alaskan Salmon, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! The BEST salmon I've ever had! The NC shrimp is WONDERFUL as well. Stop buying old & contaminated Walmart meat & start buying Food Matters fresh and local meat. The staff are BEYOND nice (like Chick Fil A nice) & super friendly which is why we love coming back. (Shoutout to Dylan W. 😊) The Cafe is absolutely DELICIOUS! Their sandwiches & pasta salads are HEAVENLY 🙌🏽😋 The Greek pasta & Cranberry quinoa salad are FAVES!

Glad to see a store like this in morganton. Small but they have everything I need, and their prices for local and organic items are way better than the larger grocery stores' organic selection (who pays nearly $10 a lb for organic ground beef?!). I hope to see them stick around!
