Big Buck's Homemade Ice Cream

The ice cream is pretty good, but i wasn’t a fan of the specials. There is no description to tell you what each one is. I ordered a banana split assuming it would be pretty standard, but asked if i might have two specific flavors of ice cream. When it came, i got a split with my flavors of choice and a bonus strawberry sorbet...a flavor i didn’t want, hadn’t asked for, and which didn’t remotely fit with the rest of the split. I pointed this out and was told “oh, but its standard...”. No offer to exchange that flavor was extended. Wanting an offer to fix the selection rather than forcefully ask myself may be my southern passive aggressive soul coming out, but certainly it seems that the attendant would have mentioned at the beginning that the split came with three scoops and not two in case i wanted to pick a third of my own.

Oh well, i sat down determined to enjoy the rest of my split when i found the surprise toppings of runny, melted whipped cream and hard pineapple. As if pairing a sorbet with ice cream wasn’t bad enough, now i had to deal with sad whipped cream and crunchy fruit? Where was my hot fudge, peanuts, and fully fluffed whipped cream? Added to the high cost of the dish, it just wasn’t a great experience.

Way over priced and the quality was poor. Whipped cream was soured and ruined our $8 sundaes 😡. Our Kids didn’t want To Finish their icecream because the cream ruined it.
The store did not refund.
$30 wasted.

Great homemade ice cream and chocolates. The ice cream is homemade so it doesn’t leave you feeling full and bloated like the sugary other places in the area that served Hershey’s and Eddy’s. I loved the coffee ice cream. Picked up some dark chocolate cashew turtles for the road and they were really good!

This is a great small shop to get your sweet treats. From fudge to ice cream. This place has a decent selection of it all. I would definitely recommend a chocolate peanut butter malt, if it's your thing! And the staff was pretty friendly.

The ice cream was great.. the young lady who waited on us awful. There was no hello or how can I help you she just walked over and looked at us. Then I ordered 2 cups with 2 scoops and 1 cup with 1 scoop. I got 5 cups with 1 scoop when I told her what I wanted the second time she plopped the second scoops on top still I'm little cups. The whole point in getting cups instead of cones was so the kids didn't make a mess. I never revisit anywhere I feel as though I am an inconvenience.

We had a variety as there were 5 of us. The ice cream was good but nothing extra special. The soft serve was good. A little expensive for such small amount. It feels a little rushed as you can't see all the flavors before having to make a quick decision. The people serving seem agitated.

Busy as should be expected, but Big Bucks was not frazzled. Line kept moving and they made a custom banana & chocolate almond milk shake no problem. Everyone was happy with their selections.

Icecream was nothing special... thought the 2 adults in our group, kids liked it. $5 for one scoop of mediocre icecream is very overpriced (maybe that’s why it’s called big bucks 🤣). We were patient as we waited to order (due to Covid) but there were no instructions as to how we were to order... inside, outside? Lots of people milling around wondering what to do next. Girl who took our order wasn’t even familiar w flavors... hadn’t heard of chocolate almond and it was posted as a choice. I wouldn’t return or recommend and we REALLY want to support local small businesses.

My friend and I got espresso milkshakes (caramel and chocolate) here, made by Jacob, and they were SO GOOD !! The drink turned out so good, much better than Starbucks' frappes at the same price. I'm absolutely gonna come back next time I'm in Kitty Hawk. :-)

Was served by a very kind woman named kathleen! The scoop of ice cream was very acceptable for amount of money I paid. Definitely try the salted caramel pretzel. Immaculate flavors and toppings. A must have for kitty hawk!
