Great coffee! The cronut we had was to die for. The chill vibes of this place make me wish I had a reason to stay and hang out with my laptop to study/work. Alas I'm not that cool... so I just sit with my coffee and pretend to look productive.

Had a latte and flat white. Large and spread out space with lots of seating, love the decor/vibe. Coffee was pretty good but 2 criticisms would be milk was a tad overheated and espresso a little harsh. It did mellow out eventually and finish nicely. Overall nice shop but for me plaza midwood undercurrent is still reigning champ.

Nice place but takes forever to get a latte made. I would have ordered drip coffee if I thought I'd have to wait 15 minutes for a latte. The food was good and the ambiance was nice but not worth the wait if you're in a rush.

Love this coffee and wine bar!! They sell selective bottled wine and beers. A cafe to work/study while sipping your desired coffee or wine. As I entered this place it smells coffee which melts my heart.

The Hobbyist has what many cafes lack these days. They have an understanding of their espresso pulls and the art of making a drink to give you a beautifully presented beverage with the right flavor as well. I had a few of their selection. The chai latte is exactly what a chai latte should be. It didn't taste overly sweet like many do and the different spices and herbs of the chai were present and clear. Their espresso was also wonderful. I'm not usually someone who enjoys just straight espresso but I suppose I do when it is done right. The Hobbyist does it right. The live band in the background also helped add to the experience. Very pleased.

Traveling from Colorado, this place is awesome for coffee or bakery goods. A very reasonable price. My friends had beer and loved it. You have to visit here.

Was recommended by a friend to check this place out and I am glad I did. I love everything about this place. They have great coffee and a chill spot to hang out or get some work done. An amazing selection of beer and wine. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient in filling my order. I noticed they have a nice selection of bourbon on the shelf and will have to come back on another day for that. If you love coffee, beer or wine this place is a must stop and I can’t wait to go back.

lovely cafe, bar, & bottle shop. beautiful modern industrial space with plenty of seating (comparatively in CLT) that walks the line of a clean cut modern & vintage vibe without feeling too cold or crowded. lots of plants throughout the space and soft seating as well as tables and a full bar. great selection of craft beers and wine. the coffee is excellent - they use hatchet beans and their menu is pared down with excellent, unique seasonal offerings. you can always get a good latte, any time of day, but some of their team is definitely more beer & wine experienced or coffee experienced - if you get one of the baristas who are really into coffee, your drink will be incredible. their black walnut latte is one of my favorite lattes i’ve ever had. incredible iced or hot.

overall 5/5 for attentive staff & service, space, and selection. if you haven’t been yet, add the hobbyist to your next outing!

Amazing atmosphere, and great spot for working and short conversations.
I tried the half sweet honey bee flat white and it was just balanced!

What an awesome bottle shop with great coffee, amazing selection of wine, craft beer and a nice surprise to see some bourbon as well. The staff was attentive and friendly, the manager Alice was very nice and I even met the owner who was extremely kind and helpful. I will definitely be bringing my friends back here, a nice regular hangout spot.
