Everything we purchased from here was fantastic. The apple uglies are surprisingly amazing!

The best Outer Banks recommendation I've gotten so far was to come here and get an apple ugly.
Covid-19: I didn't look into ordering online, but I was in and out very quickly right now in the off season. Every one working there had a mask on and I was the only customer in the store.
I just got an apple ugly and based on how good it was, I wish I would have gotten more. It's huge. My husband and I split it and my half was the size of a normal apple fritter.
It's one of the most delicious pastry items I've had. The fried, glazed cinnamon dough on its own is amazing. Then there is apple filling swirled throughout. I wanted another one immediately after finishing (even though I was stuffed).
I would drive an hour just to get this, but if you're staying up north, you'll probably be coming down to the Cape Hatteras area anyway, so make sure to stop here.

Cute, little bakery thats perfect for a morning stop. They have double dipped donuts, muffins, and pastries, as well as breakfast sandwiches and coffee. We tried the huge apple ugly, which is definitely worth the hype.

OMG! Their baked goods and sandwiches are so good! They always sell out of their apple uglies!

Apple Uglies don't taste ugly! This thing is massive and very tasty! Get here early or they run out closer to closing time!

Awesome bakery items but not sure worth the long wait in line. The line was incredibly long, and it was in October and though the Apple Fritters that they call the "Apple Ugly" because they are huge, seem to be the big attraction. They are good and so big, I only ate half of one though I couldn't resist eating one of their good chocolate doughnuts prior. The Aplle Uglies also come in a chocolate covered variety and it didn't seem like it was just me who didn't find that as desirable because I saw they eere not selling during my long wait in line, while the regulars went fast. This place also serves breakfast sandwiches and burritos as well as pastries of course. According to my daughter this is an OBX must stop icon and tourist attraction. It was good and the Apple Ugly was huge and tasty, a one of a kind perhaps, but pasty is a pasty to me. If you don't mind standing in a long line in a small store, I must recommend it nevertheless.

Long lines, but they move quickly. Everything looked so amazing, breads are house made. Apple ugly was AMAZING. HUGE. Donut holes were so good. Breakfast sandwiches were fantastic. I want to try everything!

Delicious bakery! We got breakfast sandwiches, bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and ham, egg, and cheese croissant which were so incredible. We also a frosted cinnamon roll and it was probably the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had. We also got a cranberry and blueberry muffin, they were good but not my favorite. I really wanted to try an apple ugly but they were sitting out on the counter uncovered and there were flies everywhere. I witnessed several land on them, so because of that I did not get one. Understandably, this is a small place and with the door traffic I’m sure it’s hard to keep bugs out but the food should be covered at all times for this reason. It is also pretty pricey but everything we got was very generously portioned.
