Best pastry I’ve ever had!! The coffee was good too!

having just come out of nearly a year of working at dynamite, there are a few things i feel like i should bring attention to, for anyone who’s considering this as a place of employment/simply to raise awareness in the community:
I love that dynamite is a fair trade organic roaster. i love the customers, my coworkers, and the cafe manager. however, upper management leaves something to be desired in the way they treat their employees.
Concerns with pay were met with disregard, irritation, and finally a threatening notice to cease all pay complaints, or else. we were told we would be fired if we did not wear company tshirts to work. we were told we would be fired if we were caught with a book or phone behind the bar.
eventually, a situation arose which the general manager, Patrick Shaw, handled incredibly unprofessionally with complete lack of communication. This was certainly not the first encounter with Patrick which all of the cafe staff felt was handled poorly. I wrote an email to my cafe manager with expectation of privacy, voicing concerns regarding Patrick. I expressed that I would begin looking for other employment soon.
I was fired the next day. After being one of their longest-lasting staff, a favorite of the customers, and someone who always showed up on time, I was let go. No attempt to resolve the differences was made. I felt very disrespected and it was truly a disappointing move to fire me when they knew I was starting to seek employment elsewhere.
All that to say - if you find yourself an employee of Dynamite, keep your head down and mouth shut, otherwise, you might get fired for sticking up for yourself.

I like the vibe of this place, quiet spot on a busy road. Friendly staff too! Be aware that there's no wifi, which is why I went to a coffeehouse. But it does make for a quiet place. The cappuccino was well made but coffee tasted burnt.

The cutest place with the best music and coffee. Justin and all other employees are so nice!

Frustratingly inconsistent as a regular from the area. Dynamite makes good coffee with lots of interesting varieties and roasts, but they don't have the quality controlled when you buy bags to take home. I love their whole bean medium Mexican Chiapas normally but they over-roasted it this time around (2022-06-01-ish) and it was sour and burnt tasting (def not a Covid-nose problem, and several people agreed with several cups made at different times on clean burr grinder and french press equipment.) It's not the first time I've wondered if it's just me, was this bag different the last time, or am I just being picky, but this time I was sure it wasn't me and it was a roasting error. The location is convenient, but I want to trust I'm getting what I expected or close to it, not play Russian roulette.

Delicious chai latte and coffees. Friendly service. Employees wore masks properly.

Best coffee roaster in Black Mountain and one of the best in WNC. The Nitro Cold Brew drink is excellent.

Great coffee, great vibe- as a dedicated senior citizen coffee connoisseur I can say these coffee drinks are crafted with skill and amazing depth- beans roasted on site to perfection. Best cup of coffee I’ve ever tasted, hands down. Don’t miss it!

Amazing coffee. Reasonably priced beans. Friendly staff. Atmosphere of the cafe is homey. We loved this place. They roast their own coffee, have locally baked pastries, have french presses, and a sort of pour over way of brewing. Really loved it all.

Seriously. I can’t say enough about this roaster. I ordered coffee late Thursday evening and received it Saturday early afternoon... I got the shipping confirmation within an hour of ordering it.... amazing company. All bags are 1lb. Not 12oz like most roasters.
