We have always loved this coffee shop so we drove our family over from East TN to grab coffee. Horrible wreck in Elk Park had traffic at a stand still for 45 minutes. We finally get there 3 minutes before they closed and the girl told me we could not order anything hot as that they had already broken down the machines. Mind you it was not 3 pm yes we cut it close but we tried to call multiple times on our way to order ahead but no one would answer the phone. Very upsetting. Will not return in the future.

I visited Mountain Grounds for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at how satisfying the experience was! Right when I walked in the door, the smell of fresh coffee greeted me along with the friendly owner. The coffee itself (White Chocolate Latte) was excellent, and had great foam on top. The atmosphere was very inviting, and there was no problem with customizing the drinks. Overall it was a wonderful find in Banner Elk and I will definitely be back!

Amazing spot. Great coffee with several options and super friendly staff!

Glad this coffee shop was open -- the two closer to our Airbnb were closed Mon - Wed., which made finding my coffee fix more of a challenge. Good coffee. A little too worried about masks, which I am over and done with, but not overbearingly.

Cozy little community spot! DELICIOUS handmade sweets and pastries- get one, you wont regret it. Very good coffee, I had a syrupy latte that wasn't coffee and it gave me a stomachache but I think I'm just sensitive to syrups. I love the service and art!

Service was quick and my drink was great. Barista took the time to make hearts on top! I got a blueberry scone for my wife and it looked really good. I just stopped in for a carry out order this time but it looked like they had some board games available for customers to play while hanging out.
